Anyone try it? Does it really knock you out? I think I'll take it around 8 so I can get some rest from the pain. Pain is really exhausting.

It doesn't knock me out, but I do feel fairly groggy and tend to sleep a lot more if I take it.

I think it depends on how sensitive to medications you are---I'm very sensitive to them, so if I take the recommended two, it's a fairly quick, complete knock-out for the night. I only take one because otherwise I feel really groggy the next morning.

Other than that, I think they work great. :)

That pretty much sums it up for me too!

yes it works, it knocks me out like a light, if I take 2 pm's let's say at 8pm, I will be out by 8:30, LOL no joke and I wake up feeling refreshed

It knocks me out and leaves me groggy the next day.

Thanks. I've very sensitive to things that make you sleepy. I'll take one.

It's the same ingredient as Benedryl - with Tylenol added. So if you know how Benedryl affects you, that should give you an idea. It makes me really sleepy & groggy - which is the affect I am wanting. I only take it when I am able to go to bed pretty much right away. I need to be able to get at least 8 hours of sleep after taking it, or I will be groggy the next morning.

One day a few years ago, Dh came home for lunch and had a headache. He took some "tylenol" and promptly fell asleep. I tried to get him up to go back to work and he could barely move. I looked at what he took and it was Tylenol PM, oops. He called in "sick" for the rest of the afternoon.

It does nothing for me other than relive my headache at night. Then again, I'm one of those strange people that meds that are supposed to knock you out wake me up and vice versa. NyQuil doesn't phase me and I'm not a drinker that would have a tolerance for alcohol. Actified on the other hand, works great on my sinuses, but man makes me so sleepy.

As I've gotten older, I have a very hard time going to sleep. I started taking Tylenol PM a couple of years ago. I started taking one pill every once in awhile. It worked pretty well. Then, that stopped working, so I started taking two. I now take two Tylenol PM every night and still have a hard time going to sleep. You can get used to them. Oh for a good night sleep!

For everyone here that *doesn't* have aches and pains, why don't you just take Benadryl instead of Tylenol PM?

I take it too, i'm still hurting from the accident and haven't slept well since then. So I take it at night to help me sleep better. Problem is is it takes 3 hours to start to feel it. But I sleep so much better with it then without it. But make sure you can allow yourself at least 7 or so hours of sleep after taking it or you will be kinda groggy in the morning.

I think the makers of Tylenol make something called Simply Sleep for those who don't need the PM part. I went to my doc a few weeks ago because I couldn't sleep and she gave me a 'script for a sleep aid. Honestly, I like the Tylenol PM stuff better -- whatever the prescribed one is makes me jittery, like when I take Nyquil during a cold.

Luvwinnie: Did you call your doctor today? Get some rest and take it easy tonight. It's American Idol night!
