I was planning on taking my two boys the Wed-Tues before Thanksgiving 2007. But now the TX legislature is making school district start alot later, so they are taking our week away at Thanksgiving as well as many other days.
So I guess I can go just about anytime and the boys will have to miss 4 or 5 days of school.

I don't really care to go in summer because of the crowds and the heat. I experience enough heat here in TX and don't like to spend my vacation in it.

I would love suggestion. Whats the best week of all to go?[/B]

When is your spring break? In our part of Texas it's mid-March, and although that's not ideal, it seems to be the "least bad" alternative. Lots of places don't have March, they have February and April (near Easter), so Mid-March isn't terribly crowded. We're thinking of that.

This year our spring break is March 13-17. Last several years it was the first week of March, which would have been a good time to go. There are rumors that the school district will do away or shorten our spring break because of pressure to make the last day of school before Memorial day.

A lot of Texans go as soon as school lets out for the year at the end of May. It isn't too crowded or hot, yet. Many schools across the country don't let out until the second week of June.

I'm from TX and went to DL *right after* school let out this year. It was wonderful! Felt like we had Fantasyland all to ourselves.

However, at WDW, it seems like they are on the same school schedule as we are! Last year, we went to WDW the first week of June and it was extremely crowded! (keep in mind, that's when the 50th celebration first started)

We've considered going during spring break but again, I've heard it's crowded! The week of Thanksgiving seems to be gaining popularity as well, so I don't think it would be as empty as you might imagine.

If you really had your heart set on going during Thanksgiving week, then I'd allow them to miss a day or two of school. The weather would certainly be better during that time frame. We might do that Thanksgiving '07.

I am from Texas, so I feel your pain! We try to leave the day school is out or the day after. It is not that terribly bad before Memorial Day. We did Thanksgiving last year, and would love to do it again. Guess this year is our last shot for that!

We went the day we got out for Christmas last year and it was great. If you don't want to take your kids out of school I'd go for that, just make sure you leave before Christmas. It did seem to get a little busier the closer it got to Christmas but not bad.
