Day 4: June 23, 2008- Pirate Cruise!
Today Halie and I had to be up bright and early to meet Jen at the GV to go on the pirate cruise. I knew Halie was going to have a hard time waking up so I filled up the whirlpool tub for her to bathe in. I figured it would make it more fun for her. It helped that Tinkerbell brought her a new Disney washcloth to use that day! It worked like a charm, Halie got up excited to use the giant tub!
After getting Halie ready we headed to the GV. I delivered the 4 pirate shirts for Jens girls and they quickly put them on. Jen had also bought the girls eyepatches and earrings to wear. Then we were on our way. When we pulled up to the toll booth at the MK I put on a pirate patch.
I said to the guy at the booth, Arrrgh, we be on our way to the pirate cruise at the GF! He let us through for free to head on to the GF. We used Jens DDE card to valet at GF. Then we made the long walk to the marina. The girls were instantly BFFs! Halie loved Jens daughters!
Once we got to the marina, Jen checked the girls in.
Sunscreen time!
Then they got a life jacket and a pirate Mickey bandana. The bandana lady was pretty rude to the girls and kind of made me mad. I dont remember specifics but it was enough that I have a note about it written in my trip report notes. After the girls got all fixed up, we took a billion pictures.
Jen and I wanted to be pirates too!
Little baby Kali.
Off they go!
Here is a video of the morning
After having Kali promise to help Halie keep track of her digital camera, I allowed Halie to take her camera on the cruise. So here are really quality pictures that Halie took of their Pirate adventure.
Apparently she was so bored she fell asleep.
Lunchtime!
Poor Lainey wasnt old enough to go on the cruise. Instead she got to go to breakfast with Jen and I. This breakfast was the worlds hardest thing to plan for some reason. First, just the three of us were going to 1900 PF. Then Melissa was going to join us. Then Melissa wasnt joining us. Then we were going to Kona and James, Rob, and Chad were coming. Then they werent coming. Then just the three of us were going to Kona. Finally we decided for just the three of us to go to the Poly and eat at their counter service.
We took the monorail to the Poly. This is when Lainey decided that she needed to push her own stroller. This was probably Jens favorite part of the day. Right Jen?
We went to Captain Cooks to eat. This is a really neat CS. You order your meal on a touch screen. Lainey kept pushing the buttons though! Good thing shes so cute! How could you get mad at a face like that?! I was very excited to try the Tonga Toast. So I got Tonga Toast with bacon and a cup of water.
Captain Cooks
$6.60
Tonga Toast
I have to say it. Tonga Toast is nasty. I thought it was very greasy. I know people love it. It reminded me of a Krispy Kreme donut (which I also dont like) because when you take a bite you could feel oil squish out just like Krispy Kreme. I kinda just picked the banana filling out and ate it. I will never get it again.
As we finished up eating, Jen and I called Kim. We decided to go outside so we could put her on speakerphone and brag about being in WDW together without her. Love ya Kim! While we were on the phone with Kim, the funniest thing happened. Lainey climbed up on to the table and started singing, Dont ya wish your girlfriend was hot like me? I thought I was going to die laughing. I quickly informed Kim of the things that Jen is obviously teaching her poor children. Then Lainey says, Bow chicka bow wow! I thought I was going to die!!! OMG! She is so cute!
We finished up talking to Kim and then headed back to the GF. I stopped on the way and bought myself a dole whip ($3.08). They have self serve dole whip at the Poly! How awesome is that!?!
We got back to the GF and waited for our little pirates to come back. We spent our time talking about DVC and how great it is. Lainey also kept us very entertained!
After awhile the pirates returned! They had an okay time. The older three girls age 7 and up thought it was a little babyish for them. They gave it one thumb up. The youngest one who I think is 4 (correct me if Im wrong Jen) loved it! Two thumbs up from her!

After the cruise we went back to Jens GV. The girls wanted to stay together and play, but I knew Halie needed a nap and much more important, I needed a nap! So we went back to our room with a promise to the girls that wed see them that night for Illuminations.
When we got to the room, Halie and went straight to the master bedroom to sleep. Chad and Rob went to Wal-Mart, brought the stuff back, and went to MGM while we were sleeping.
Lastly, here is a video that I call, Can I see? It was from when we were waiting for the girls to return from the cruise.
Up next: Coral Reef, Illuminations, and the Night of the Margaritas!
