Two way radios that you buy in the UK are not licensed for use in the USA as they operate at a different frequency. UK radios will wotk in the USA, but there is the possibility that you will have interference with other users of that radio frequency such as emergency services, utility workers, etc.
Two way radios can be bought in orlando very cheaply. They are widely available - I bought ours in Walmart. For the same reason, USA radios cannot be used legally in the UK.
Another vote for Walmart for the best selection of walkie talkie two way radios - I bought a set in 2000 and they are used every year we go - they're great and were worth every $ and they wern't very expensive at all.
mike230652 FYI I was not being irresponsible I was just trying to offer advice. It does not say anywhere on my instructions that they are not legal in other countries. Also FYI I have a license to operate radios and have a qualification in RT.
I used my radios last year with no interference. I would not dream of using them again in the US if I thought they caused interference with emergency service radios. Rob@rar.org.uk where did you get this info? My radios are FCC complient!
