From what I understand Granny DVC did correct that glitch a year or two ago and transferred points do retain their original characteristics so that can't be done any more. I think dbs1228 was just saying that if you don't transfer then you can't make the reservation all at once if you are at the start of your 11/7 month booking window. ie - MS won't recognize that at 7 months you've booked the first 3 nights from your UY so you can add another 2 nights at that time. Instead if you don't transfer you have to wait until the 7 month window opens for the last 2 nights.

And I fully expect with online booking that none of us will be able to book anything at all! Just kidding - I think......
