Two Unrelated Questions

I'm leaving for WDW in a couple of days and had a couple of unrelated questions and was hoping you would endulge me as trying to get work ready so I can leave on vacation is overtaxing my back muscles and I haven't been able to find answers to these obsessive-need-to-plan questions.

DD and I are driving and staying offsite (thanks to DU!) so we have a car.

I was hoping to hit some of the offsite restaurants Kevin has reviewed. Is there any consensus on which Tijuana Flats is best? This is an important question because Mexican is a major food group for me.

Also, I am planning on spending a day resort hopping to see the decorations. Are there magic words to tell the guard so I can park at the resorts (the EPCOT resorts, AKL and WL)? I only have an ADR for AKL.

The Tijuana Flats in Hunters Creek is the closest and is cheap and very good. The others are a bit too far away to be worth the possibility that they might be better.

Tell the guard you are having lunch...which you will probably end up doing anyway.

Keep in mind that the momorail hotels will often stop onsite parking except for guests of that particular resort or guest holding restaurant reservations.
The lots just become too full and people abuse the "No theme park parking" rule.

Thanks so much for the answers. I wasn't even going to try parking at the monorail resorts but appreciate the heads up.

We didn't need to tell them we were having lunch, we just told them we were checking out all the resorts, and they didn't have an issue with it. But now that I think of it, we only did that at WL. We parked at TTC for the MK resorts, and walked over to BC from Epcot one day. We didn't get all the way to AKL.

I would expect parking at the MK monorail resorts, especially CR, might be more strict, and especially if you are offsite.

Thanks. WL was the primary one I was concerned about. I could live with parking at EPCOT or the TTC for those resorts.

I should have added "YMMV". Nothing at WDW is consistent, so it could depend on the day, the cast member, etc. Closer to Christmas it might be busier - but in general they should give you a three hour pass just as if you were eating there.

Of course, you could always try and get a ressie at WCC, and solve the issue altogether :) We didn't have an ADR, but we happened to be there right at opening for lunch, and they sat us right away...

You will see a great difference between last week and next week.

I dont imagine you would have any trouble at the WL.

The monorail resorts are tougher as people try to park there while visiting the MK.

The same is true at the Yacht and Beach Club.
