The photo doesn't really do it justice, 40+mph winds and heavy wet snow. We've got about 7 inches so far. #flightcancelled :scared:
We are safe at home but couldn't get on a flight to London until Monday.

Hope it's sunny where you are today
:daisy:

Bleh! :crazy2:

I'm so sorry to hear that!! Stupid weather! :headache:

If it makes you feel any better it isn't snowing in London. Oh...wait...that might not help! Sorry! :duck:

But I'm keeping everything I can (and even somethings I can't) crossed for you guys to make it safely over this side of the pond on Monday!!

I would very much like to know what those things are that you can't.

Well that totally sucks! How does that impact on... well... everything?

We just have to push things back two days, eliminate a day trip and the trip to Hampton Court, I've been there a couple of times, so that is ok. And our trip just got shorter, only 4 1/2 days instead of 6 1/2. I count the half because we don't leave Denver until 5:20pm and get into London the next day around 11:30. I'd rather have 4 packed full days than no days at all, so we are making the best of it.
I wish we could extend our time and push our return date back a day but my daughter is taking college courses that she can't miss. So we arrive on Tuesday morning and leave on Sunday.

Pooh.... :crazy2: Funny how London weather is better than ours right now.

Thanks Lu  I'm heading for the closest pub as soon as we get there

Doesn't sound too bad, then.

::yes:: That's what we did with our Hawaii trip.
Better a short trip than none at all.

Too bad you can't extend, but it is what it is.

Going to London, take 2

We have successfully made it through the snowpocalypse and are all packed and ready to go. The weather for tomorrow looks great so yea! :worship:

Here's a little look at what we ended up with

18 inches total
Got the kids out and we shoveled the driveway by hand (snowblower is out of commission naturally)

I'll try to post some pics while we are there!

Cheers!

Yours is coming up soon! Are you ready??

I"m so freaking behind here on the DIS, but it's the last push of school and soon, my time will be my own again! Anyway, I had some successes and some not so much. Brook did the best she could, and it'll all be great in the end!

Thanks! Oh that's good to know about Sanaa. I think the 5:30 ADR will still be good for animal viewing.

It will be great! Ask when they feed the vultures outside the restaurant! That was fun!

I think it will be a great way to kick off our Poly stay.

I'm sad we will just barely miss each other too! Next time we need to plan these things better!

ME TOO!! Dang it! (Maybe a girls trip someday??)

(snowblower is out of commission naturally)

naturally.

Agreed! ::yes::

Too bad you can't extend, but it is what it is.

That's what she....oh never mind ;)

It would be hard for me to give up that control to someone else. I know you didn't have a choice since you had school. If I had to leave it up to my DH it would be anarchy.

Oh wow! That is so cool

ME TOO!! Dang it! (Maybe a girls trip someday??)

I would love that!

OH, Girlfriend! There is no way in HELLO I'd give that to my DH. NO. FREAKING. WAY. We'd eat at Cosmic Ray's 2 meals a day, and never make it out of the resort room until noon- if you know what I mean. :sad2::rolleyes1

I would love that!

Ok, you're on the list. Could be next year... :)

Hello Dearies! Just a quick check in from London Town.
The trip has been really great so far, we flew from Denver to Iceland and changed planes there, in the snow no less (can't seem to get away from the stuff) and then had a short 2 1/2 hour Flight on to London from there. I was exhausted, can't sleep on the plane. We hit the ground running after checking into our hotel and got out to see the sights and get the legs moving the first day. Wednesday was my DD's birthday and she and I went out to the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio tour and it was spectacular. My favorite thing of the trip so far!

All I have to say is AMAZEBALLS!! Just to be in the actual sets where they filmed was crazy!
The next day we went to St. Paul's cathedral and the Tower of London and I was awarded the smooth move of the trip award when I twisted my ankle crossing the street and fell right there in front of God and everybody. Ankle is ok but after walking 10 miles on a sprained ankle I'm now the proud owner of a foot that somewhat resembles a sausage :rolleyes1
Today we went to the town of Bath and it was lovely, a bit rainy but hey, its London!

Tomorrow is our last full day and the plans are to visit Westminster Abbey, Churchill's War Rooms and the obligatory trip to Harrods. A girl's gotta shop! I may have done some damage to my credit card at the WB gift shop too.......:confused3

Already dreading the long flight home on Sunday.:scared:
total miles walked in 4 days = 24.75. Excellent training for Disney I must say!
:grouphug:

Well, if you're going to do it, do it in front of the whole planet.

Ankle is ok but after walking 10 miles on a sprained ankle I'm now the proud owner of a foot that somewhat resembles a sausage :rolleyes1

Oh, that's too bad. Hope it's okay for you to still walk tomorrow.

Today we went to the town of Bath and it was lovely, a bit rainy but hey, its London!

I thought it was Bath?

Tomorrow is our last full day and the plans are to visit Westminster Abbey, Churchill's War Rooms and the obligatory trip to Harrods.
