Hi everyone. I checked on Best Rates for spring break this morning and saw they were available. Took quite awhile entering all my info into the computer and when it came time to "SUBMIT" the computer would not respond! I was SO frustrated... I had wasted a lot of time and wasn't even sure if my reservation was made or not.
I called the reservations line to ask for help, and they were very nice. They were able to see that I did NOT have a reservation. The rate I had seen on the computer was not "great" but when they quoted me AAA, it beat that, so I asked if they could help me reserve it. I expected a "NO" but I got a "Yes!" They said I could call weekday afternoons between 2 and 5 and they would help with passholder bookings. Great!
When I called back, I had printed out the page from the computer and told the lady about my troubles that morning. She asked me if the computer had given me a "code," but all I know was "best rate." She put me on hold for a few minutes then came back to help me book. Now here it gets better: the rate SHE quoted me was a good deal better than the computer's quote from that morning! One standard room at PO-FQ with tax was at $330 for two nights that morning on the computer. The phone lady quoted me $245! I told her that was a better rate than the computer had offered, and she just said "great!"
So now I am happy about my reservation but confused about "best rate." How can it be called "the best rate" when a few hours later it dropped by over $30 per night? Weird. Phone lady did also offer that THEY have been having computer trouble lately too, with everything slow and sluggish. Just wanted to let you all know to hang in, keep trying, and definitely CALL, between 2 and 5, if the computer gives you trouble!
