I have two totally unrelated questions, so here goes.....

I hear the Love Bugs are back and swarming! How long do these little suckers stick around? We'll be in WDW in less than two weeks and I'm hoping we don't have a big problem with them. We've managed the past couple of trips to not have them, but I remember one year they were bad and they were freaking out my kids. :(

Second question: I'm not sure if I need to make PS for Fantasmic while we're there. If I do make them, do we have to sit in the PS section? Could we move over to another area if there are seats available. I can't remember if that whole area is roped off or not. We liked sitting more towards the middle of the theater than all the way over on the side.

Just wondering.....thanks!! :bounce:

I'll try to help with the first question. I think that love bugs hang around in full force for about 2 weeks, but I'm not positive. I'm not sure about Fantasmic though.

The love bugs will probably be around till Oct., we're so used to them, we don't even notice anymore....just don't sit on them.
And as far as Fantasmic goes, I have never done a dinner deal, we go get a seat about 45 minutes before the show and relax. I don't see why you would do the dinner package if you don't want to sit in the reserved seats, I thought this was the main reason. I've heard the dinner prices have been raised, to me there's no real reason to do it, the ampitheater holds 10k people, if you just plan right and are there 45 minutes before the show, I can't see how you wouldn't get a great seat. To me, it's just an easy buck, or 4, for Disney.

The Love Bugs are annoying, but as they don't bite and are slow moving (easily killed if necessary) they really don't bother us. There has been some, but not a swarm of them this year. Only piece of advice, if you're driving your own car, make sure you get it washed as they are a bugger (no pun intended) to get off.

When we did the Fantasmic package this summer, we sat in the designated seating about 4 rows from the bottom and all the way to the left. The view was really good from there, a lot better than expected. My husband taped it and I took some pictures. I really enjoyed not having to get there and wait for a long time before it began.:D

We were there last week and the love bugs were pretty bad. They were all over the place. Like everyone mentioned, they don't bite or anything but real annoying. My wife and I always checked each other out before going back into our hotel rooms (POR) because we would always see some bugs stuck to someones back or hair :(

The priority seating for Fantasmic is roped off and located to the left (if you're facing the stage). I don't think you have to sit in this section but the regular seats filled up quick. I think you get just as good of a view in the roped off section as you do the middle. They have the show set up where the middle, left, and right section all see the same thing.

We just got back and I found the love bugs to only be a problem in the middle of the day. They must sleep at night b/c they weren't as bad. There were a couple of big clusters that I found icky but considering we didn't wait to ride anything I found them to be livable. Also my husband said they were the dumbest bugs around - he would catch them for fun and then let them go and they would fly right back. They don't bite and killing them if they get really annoying is easy!

We did do the Fantasmic seating and I really liked the quick exit at the end but if you showed up late enough they did let you sit in the empty section next to us so at this time of year I wouldn't think it necessary to do it again but we liked our dinner and thought it was a good enough value.
