I know this topic has been covered a million times, but Im sure DVC folks must run into this issue sometimes so here goes.

We are booked for 9 nights total with 3 split stays. We like split stays and are doing that part intentionally, not due to room shortages.

Night 1 - Poly Studio
Nights 2-5 - BCV 1 bedroom
Nights 6-9 - VGF 1 bedroom

We actually have the poly studio booked for the 1st and 2nd night, so there is a double booking at the Poly and BCV for night 2. The reason is we'd like to stay in the studio throughout the next day and enjoy the resort while we wait for our BCV room to be ready.

Can we just "check-out" from the Poly early on day 2 to avoid the MDE confusion? If our BCV room becomes available while we are still checked in at the Poly what happens?

Open to any suggestions from anyone who has dealt with this before. TIA.

When you say "enjoy the resort," you know you can use the pool and other amenities on your checkout day even after you've checked out, right? You don't need that second night to extend the "enjoy the resort" part.

That said, if you're set on the plan, I would have two different primary guests, one on each reservation. Make one in your name and one in the other person's name, and then don't link them to each others' My Disney Experience profile. You'll probably still have to do some juggling of MagicBands and room keys, but I think that should work.

Yeah I should really say "enjoy the room". We have young kids so want a proper home base while waiting. I do have MBs for my mom and mother in law so we could easily enough just register the Poly rooms as them and then my wife and I could still have a MB each.

That's exactly what I would do. Even if they didn't have bands, I think they would still get key cards.

We had a double booking last week and another separate booking...it doesn't take much to confuse IT!

Our son and DIL were at BLT for two nights, doubled booked with us at OKW 2 BR Lock Off, so they moved over to OKW. Our DIL was primary on BLT and me on OKW. They are on one of our deeds.

It was a bit confusing to DVC here and there, but ultimately we are paying for the rooms and both were checked into. Just expect to explain and they do "get it" and it's not a problem when they understand they didn't screw up LOL. Good for you - use those points the way your family needs them! Have fun!
