Two reserve rations back-to-back (split) - Does dining plan roll over?

OK.... so here is what I have:

1/18/2012 - 1/22/2012 (4 nights) with a paid dining plan
1/22/2012 - 1/31/2012 (9 nights) with the free dining plan promotion

The reason for the split stay is that it's the only way to get the free dining plan promotion. It saved me over $1000 to split the reservations. Disney helped me set up the whole thing over the phone.

Now here's my question... if I don't use the full dining plan that I paid for on the first four nights, can the unused credits be applied to the second reservation? I know that they are two separate reservations in the system, but really it's just one big stay for us (we won't be switching rooms or anything). We are going to be traveling Florida on one of the first few days and unable to use our full credits that we paid for! It just dawned on me now, 20 days away from the vacation, that this could be an issue.

Anyone have any experience with a split stay reservation like this and the dining plan credits?

No, any remaining credits from your first reservation do not roll over and will be forfeited if not used by midnight on the last day of your first reservation.

My advice is to obviously try to use all of your meal credits, but to use any remaining snack credits on items that can be used for quick breakfasts in the 2nd half of your stay, like muffins, cinnamon rolls, fruit cups, etc...or on candy that you can take back with you.

Edited to add: You can also try to see if a CM will allow you to redeem any remaining TS or CS credits for several snack credit items if you find you have some leftover. Usually this is most likely to happen at your resort and not in the parks.

We just arrived back and while there, we were told by a staff member serving the food, 3 snack credits=1Quick Service...as we too were using up our snacks before we checked out that day... :<))

Just wanted to comment that your post sounds backwards. You *may* be able to use a CS credit to purchase multiple snack items. And that's *may* - depends on where you are and who is waiting on you.

You cannot use 3 snack credits combined to get a CS meal, however, in any scenario I have ever heard of. Were you saying that's what you did?

You may be able in some places, like food courts, to use the snack credits to ASSEMBLE a CS meal (for example, grab and go sandwich, drink and a brownie = 3 snack credits)
