Planning our next trip to see the Mouse!

1. What time does the character breakfast at Tusker House open? If I can get the earliest time slot, can I still be ready for the rides when the park opens? How long would breakfast take? I want my kids to eat with Donald and Daisy but I hate to miss rope drop.

2. With a purchase of a dining plan, does your # of meals match the days you stay or # of nights. For example, I am doing 6 nights / 7 days. I get 7 park passes with a Disney package. If I get the dining plan, do I get 6 quick service / 6 sit downs / 6 snacks or 7 of each?

Thanks for clearing up some confusion in my muddled brain!

If you purchase the dining plan credits are based on the number of NIGHTS you are at the resort.

So a 6night/7day stay...you have 6 credits (6TS, 6CS, 6snacks on the DDP) per person.

As for Tusker House I believe it opens at 8am. I could be wrong, but I think 8 is the earliest.
If the park opens at 9am that day, they will let you in 15 mins early to get to the ressie.
Count on breakfast being at least an hour. So you may not make it out in time to see rope drop.

Nadjalu is correct, 6 of each.

As far as the Tusker House question. This is a must for my family every trip to Disney. I always try for the 8am ressie(this is the 1st of the day) on a non EMH day. That gets us in the park at 7:45am and we can walk thru the park to Tusker with hardly anyone there (magical). Once we get to our seat, we start the buffet, wait for the characters, let the kids do the parade with the characters and get their autographs and we are normally at rope drop about 5-10 minutes before it happens. The rope drop for this area is just outside Tuskerhouse and they have a very large man dressed in his atire playing a big drum entertaining everyone at the rope drop, he is sooo good and has a great accent, very friendly. My kids really love him!

Have fun!!!

We have had breakfast at 8am on two separate trips at Tusker House. Both times we finished up no later than 8:50. Also, you are right next to the safari, so you can either grab a fastpass or be one of the first in line. Have fun!

I think the earliest ADR you can schedule is actually for 8:05 am, so if you get that, don't worry, that is the first seating.

Thanks all for the advice.

I think we are going to try this. My kids don't know about the trip but talk about Disney all the time since we went in October. My oldest (DS5) loved Crystal Palace so that's a must. They also would like to each with the Disney Junior characters. H&V is now on the list. I realized we weren't eating with any of the big 6 - Mickey. Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy - and I've always wanted to try Tusker House.

The name of the thread got your attention though, didn't it!:littleangel:
