Two questions??

I have two questions regarding my upcoming trip.
1. How small are the kids menu items? If they order a cheesburger or pizza are the servings very small?
2. Are the rides still operational during the night time parade and fireworks in Magic Kingdom?

The kids meals are about the size of the kids meals at local fast food establishments here in Canada.

The rides do run during parades and fireworks, in fact these are the best times to ride as a lot of the crowd is busy watching parades and fireworks.

we think the meals at WDW are huge and we often order the kids meals for ourselves, otherwise DH and I have been known to split a meal if we can actually agree on what to have.

and then we get ice cream or a great desert somewhere else later

most of the attractions continue running throughout the parades and fireworks, but not all. And the streetlights are turned off for fireworks just so you know.

I am with the PP, the kids meals are rather big and I routinely order them or split an adult meal with DD or DH then snack later.

We did the DxDP last May for DD's birthday and gained weight and over ate for a week and swore we would never do it again! It was way too much food.

I also wanted to add that it depends on the age of your child. My 9 yr old son was constantly hungry last year on our trip, and we had to get a lot of snacks for him as the kids meals just weren't enough. They were perfect amount for our 7 yr old dd and too big for our 3 & 4 yr old boys. The good news is that the adult portions are so big so usually my 9 yr old ended up eating my leftovers!

Our first trip with our dd two years ago, we started out ordering her whatever meal she chose. They were too much for her and she can eat a happy meal no problem
So to save $$(we weren't on a meal plan) we just gave her some off of our plates and ordered her a drink and she was happy.

This year though, she's 8 and she'll have the meal...but we're on the plan this time too!!
