Two questions about very late arrival.

DH and I are anticipating a 10pm check-in at the GCH on Thursday.

We are flying, and will not be renting a car.

Question 1) anyone know how late the DL shuttle goes? I keep forgetting to call (and ask) the resort during business hours.

Question 2) I did remember to ask how late we could get food in the hotel and/or downtown Disney. The person I talked to stated that downtown Disney was open until 2am. I did the single eyebrow raise at this and asked 'for food?' she said yes. Now I'm turning to the experts. How late can we get food in Downtown Disney and/or GCH (not including room service).

Disneyland Express runs until 10:30pm. http://www.graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.shtml

DTD restaurants are open late, but I can't address food service til 2am. You should be good for some food service at the bars in the time frame you'll need - around midnight. Maybe a night owl can answer definitively.

Have you looked at the other shuttle companies? I know SuperShuttle runs 24 hrs and they cost less than the Disneyland Express. I'm not sure which airport you are flying into, but take a look at the transportation super thread for all the shuttle info.

Sorry, don't know about late dining.

Just throwing this out as an idea. Have you guys looked at possibly staying near the airport that night at a inexpensive place with a free airport shuttle then getting up early and going back to the airport to get a DL shuttle and saving yourself the nighttime headache and also the GCH cost for 1 night?? If you don't have kids it might be worth the savings? Although, I could see if you really wanted to wake up your first day and get started immediately if you don't have a long trip planned. It was just a thought. :)

You will find places in DTD open later, not sure about 2 am but I know that places are open. You may end up sitting in a bar area and ordering food but you will be able to eat.

We always drive to DL so I can't speak of the shuttle but I know DBF didn't have any problems getting to our hotel the few times he had to fly back for "family obligations" that didn't come up until after we'd made our plans to go to DL/DCA. There were a few times that he had to fly back so his parents didn't get upset with him. :)

Last year we had the same itinerary. We arrived at SNA around 10:00 and hopped onto the Super Shuttle (pre-paid via internet) which drove just the 4 of us straight to the GCH. It was quick and easy with no headaches. We will be doing the same thing this Thursday.

Go Ducks.
