We are in the World now - been here since Sunday.
Our TS so far has been Sci Fi dinner, LeCelliar lunch, and CRT dinner.
LeCelliar was somewhat disappointing -not bad, just not as good as the last time I was there.
But SciFi and CRT both were nice surprises.
The food at Sci Fi was mediocre as usual. But we had GREAT service. He even got chicken nuggets for DS (not on the menu). We had 6:30 ADR, showed up at 6:15, were seated by 6:30, and back to ASMo (by Disney bus) right at 8:00. In the past I've found service slow, but this time was just right. Also, I asked the hostess if we could be near center if possible. She said she'd note it, but absolutely couldn't guarantee anything. I assured her I understood. So imagine how surprised I was when we were called even before our ADR time and found ourselves in the front row center! DS was ecstatic.
Tonight, CRT was an absolute delight. After reading reviews here, I was very leary of it. When I had dinner there 2 years ago, I hated it. I had the lamb shank or something like that that time.
Tonight I had the BLT salad, Prime Rib, and the chocolate desert. The salad could have used a bit more seasoning in the dressing, but was very good. The prime rib also was very good. The desert didn't wow me, but was good. DS was also very happy withy his chicken noodle soup, chicken strips and mashed potatos, and sundae for desert. There was no issue with him choosing from the kids menu even though he is technically an adult. (We are on DDP.)
The server and whole staff were great. And to top it off, the Fairy Godmother asked the server to have DS come see her after the "show." He was able to take a picture with her. And he broke my heart - he's been sad about not having a girlfriend (he is 14 and has Down Syndrome), and told her his wish was for a girl to take to the next dance!
In past trips the Fairy Godmother has taken note of DS (like in a parade or meet & greet) and I believe this was the same actress. I have to wonder if she actually remembered him. When I did KTTK last year, our guide said there were only 2 of them, and one had been there for several years.
Anyway, CRT was the best food I've had so far this tripl, and was a magical night to top it off. I'd definitely go back.
