Two part fantasmic question

Holly smokes! I am pulling my hair out trying to find out what time Fantasmic is on Tuesday May 3rd. I've tried so many sites I am going nuts! I have written down 8:30, but I do not know if that is from a while ago, or accurate. I did make a ps at Hollywood and Vine at 4:30, if 8:30 is right, isn't that a bit early for dinner? Or should I try to make it earlier. I have never been so I am not sure which is better an earlier dinner, or closer to the fantastmic time. Help!

It seems to be at 8:30 so if you want to call 30 days prior to the day you can see if later ones come available, usually they do.

We had a 4:30 PS for the FDP at the Hollywood Brown Derby and the Fantasmic show was at 7:30 pm that night for the FDP. I originally thought that this was too early but it worked out just right. However, at the Brown Derby you order off menus and I think Hollywood and Vine is a buffet; so, you might not take as much time eating as we did. With the FDP, you have to go to your seats at least 30 minutes before the show anyways. So, you should factor that in when you are figuring out how much potential "dead" time you will have after dinner. If it's really busy at MGM, you may want to think about Fastpasses for a show after dinner before you go to take your seats for Fantasmic. You may also want to take into account when the Stars and Motor Cars parade is on that day. (In our case, a couple of weeks before our trip, Disney moved the time of the parade to 4:30 pm from 4:00 pm. That was a bit of a bummer but it was raining during the parade anyways.)
