two parks, two adrs on same day?

So I have an A plan and B plan and want to make overlapping lunch ADRs at two different parks, will the system let me do that?

We are trying to meet up with friends at WDW on those days and if it works we will adjust our schedule to be with them (we are there a full week, friends just two days).

If you book 2 different places for the same time frame the system will cancel both of them.
You are not suppose to double book as it isn't fair to others.

Now I can't say if it would do this if one is really early and the other is really late, that would probably work. But if they are close together chances are you will lose both.

Thank you. Maybe I will wait a couple more weeks then adjust. We are going a pretty quiet week (the last in Feb) and I just want to be able to switch lunches at Plaza and Prime Time 50s so it might not be an issue anyway.

I was able to add a second dinner reservation for the same night, around the same time, and the system just asked if I wanted to continue, or cancel. I was able to continue and received a confirmation # for both. BTW....I did cancel one of the ADR soon thereafter. I was under the impression that the system allowed this to accommodate large parties who may not all dine together.
I think it will allow you to make both ADRs.

The system allows you to double book.

During Free Dining (possibly other times as well) it has been posted that people who double booked had their ADR's cancelled.

I would not purposely keep two reservations for a similar time - you are holding an ADR that someone else might want and you have no intention of going to both ADR's.

The computer system allows you to double book so that you can get a better time, different restaurant, change # of guests, etc. You then are able to cancel the previous ADR without worrying that you can't get a replacement ADR.

Yes, the cancellations don't happen immediately. FWIR, I suspect that they run a process overnight, or perhaps just once a week, to detect double-bookings.
