That was soooo sweet of them to do that. There is such wonderful caring people here on the DIS boards and I feel like we are all one big "Ohana"( Ohana means family and family means no one get's left behind of forgotten). And I will be saying my prayers and I will be thinking of Marie on April 7th.

you explained it quite well. All our blocks will be put together and made into quilts. They must have pink fabric because it will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The quilts will then be quilted and then returned to American Patchwork Quilting Magazine and auctioned off in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I made one in honor of my mom who died of Breast Cancer in 1985. My mother in law is a 40 year Breast Cancer survivor. But when I heard about Marie, with her fear of MRI's I wanted to do a bit of something to cheer her up. I am extremely claustrophobic so I'm feeling for her.

I also had a bit of a scare a few years ago when my Mammogram came back with a few questions. It all turned out fine and I"m hoping all our prayers will be answered for Marie too.

I'm so glad you and Marie liked my choice of dogs, she's a beauty!

My square for my mom, and Marie's will be mailed tomorrow. They have to be to the Magazine by April 30th.

I hope to someday see my squares in a quilt. If not, I'm sure the care and thought I put into both of them will be appreciated by whomever sleeps under it at night.

Hoping that all goes well Dan. I, too, had a scare 2 years ago - very frightening but all turned out well. The wait is an awful time though and as much as I pray that it all turns out well on 7th April, I pray that the time between now and then passes quickly for Marie.

You don't have to tell me about the kindness of DISers. After my recent fall and subsequent surgery, I have received dozens of cards and PMs from my DIS friends urging my speedy recovery. One DISer went so far to send me flowers as well. I have been blessed with this caring community of friends, many of whom I have never met.

As a former MRI scan volunteer J(due to the new hardware in my right leg) and as a person who is somewhat claustrophobic, I know in my heart that Marie will be OK. I hope and pray that she will close her eyes and relax during the procedure. I like to think of all the noise that the MRI makes as a sort of symphony (although the song is somewhat monotonous).

I can see why you say "We are Family". The people here are amazing.

From what I've seen, you are a very deserving person of the extra thoughts and gifts. You give a huge amount to the boards!!! It is heartwarming to see how connected the world can be when there are people such as yourself and other disers in it.
