Hi Everyone,

Just sharing the great news that Me and Adam are off to the world in September next year

Feel free to follow along on my PTR (link in Sig), not very long at the moment but will fill with more details later on. I would love to hear from fellow Aussies especially those that are going at the same time. We can swap notes on our planning :goodvibes

Also... How good is the AUS$ at the moment, I don't know whether to change some money now or gamble and wait closer to the date. Any suggestions??

Yay:cool1: Going to Disney :cool1: so excited nearly bouncing full time for the last week, hopefully that clears up soon :rotfl2:

Congratulations on having a trip booked and planned!

:tigger: :sulley: :simba: :goofy: :ccat: :goofy: :mickeyjum

(They're bouncing with you! :rotfl:)

AUD is fantastic at the moment. I normally buy and change money a little bit at a time and lock in at an exchange that I'm happy with. That way, if the dollar moves in either direction, I can either sit and wait or buy more.

It all depends on what you want to do.

Thanks I am so excited. The more bouncing the better :dance3:

I don't have anything booked just yet. But will start in the next few weeks. I have a plan that is mostly correct, just needs some more fine tuning.

Thanks for the advice on the AUD, that might be the smart option, to buy in little amounts. I was also thinking of getting a travel money card, I have seen a Mastercard one in the Commonwealth bank. I don't know if it is worth it or if I should just use my normal credit card while away? One advantage is that I can lock in the exchange rate at the moment with the travel money card. Can't do that with normal credit card.

Look out for more updates posted soon in the PTR :yay:

DH travels to the US about 3 or 4 times a year. So, he has the Travel Money Card and we transfer/exchange money into the card when we are happy with the exchange rate...which reminds me...I should do some today.

It works differently to a credit card; it's more a debit card. And I like knowing that I'm spending money that I have, rather than on credit.

You'll need to work out if it is good for you or not and then go from there.

YAY How exciting :)

The AUD is amazing atm...and Ive spent all my money on my last holiday lol

We are heading to WDW in September too! My head is spinning - there is so much to think about!

I have to get my husband to work out a ticker etc, he's the computer nerd in the family (in fact he's downstairs in his office right now working to pay for this holiday!)

Looking forward to hearing lots of good advice! :goodvibes

It is so exciting to actually say that we are going :goodvibes after so many years of just dreaming what we would be planning now I am actually planning it. I will jump over now and read you PTR.

Yay  so many of us Aussies are heading there in September. Are you planning on doing a PTR? I would love to read it if you are.

I would like to think that I could do a PTR. I've read enough of everybody else's!

I just have to make the time, if only my thoughts could be automatically posted without me having to type them out - it would save so much time!

I took my Christmas tree down today, very excited to think that the next time I put it up I will have some gorgeous new decorations from WDW!

Our plans so far are to be in New York for 5 nights before we head to POR for 12 nights. After that we're not sure whether to head to LA or San Francisco, still working that one out. Honestly I'm just so looking forward to the 4 of us being together for 3 weeks with no business to think about & no housework!! :cloud9:

Last year we threw our Christmas tree out, too many of the branches were starting to break. We were going to get a new one this year but somehow never got around to it :confused3 The stupid thing is that there is a discount Christmas warehouse a 1 minute walk from our apartment. We went home at Christmas anyway so I got to enjoy my mums decorations.

3 Weeks with nothing to do does sound wonderful, yay for no house work as well. Except at some point I am going to need to do some clothes washing. That or really smell after the first week or take 3 weeks worth of clothes :rotfl2:

You're right, I will have to do the washing - but I plan to sit by the pool while it happens!! Possibly (more like probably) with a cocktail!!

In 2009 we made it through Disneyland (5 hot days) and then New York (5 cold days) without having to wash, but then we got to the in-law's place in London and their tiny little washer was no match for our stuff!! So we threw it all in the car and I sat for 2 hours in a laundromat! No cocktail that time - just a juice from the shop next door and a trashy magazine!! Something tells me that washing in WDW will be a little more pleasant!! :yay:

I'm going in September too!! (Actually leave in August - but have stays in Vegas and NY before heading down to the World in Sept). :cool1:

I am very excited!:banana::banana::banana:

My mum and dad have decided to come with me also. We will be away for 4 weeks.

So much planning to do. I have already booked into POFQ, where we will be staying for 10 nights with free dining. I paid for it in full a couple of months ago when the dollar was in the mid 90's - we are happy with that.

Now the countdown until March, when they will release the Park hours!!:yay:

:cool1: More Aussies for September. I am kicking myself that I missed free dining, do you think they will be offering free dining again this year? I really hope so. Let us know if you start a PTR.

Well, we are going in September too. Booked into the Beach Club for 11 nights and got free dining as well!! This will be our first trip so everyone is very excited, particularly our 8 year old son.

Now we just have to work everything else out, like airfares....and should we go to Universal, Las Vegas, New York, Hawaii??? The choices are endless, the money is not......for shame.

Wow, I love that there are other people like you all out there just as excited as us!

It's great to pop on here and get a break from playing with Barbies and Zhu Zhu Pets with our 6 year old!

As I look around my house this morning I see everybody doing what they love, DH watching cricket (we ALL love cricket!), PS3 going crazy upstairs with the almost teenager (4 more days until 13), and little one sending Zhu Zhus zooming across the floor.

Now I'm off to vacuum - yep - ALMOST everybody doing what they love!!

Hey Snickals....hows the TR coming along??? popcorn::

Im not great at writing things like that lol If I have time one day I might do a quick recap :) Took me forever to post pics to FB and looking at the pics back reminded me of so many great times :)

I am 'hoping' to go back there again this year...in my dreams I am aiming for a US spring vacation (really, anytime other than the record low cold like I had last time lol) but I'm a relief/contract teacher so cant start saving until I start working/earning again :(

That excited feeling you get when you know you have a holiday ahead of you really is the best!!! Enjoy your pre-trip excitement :D

I also was a bit like yourself in that I didnt do a PTR but i am thinking of doing one this time around.

We are planning on going back in September 2012 it was my husband actually that said start organising another trip i said are you sure he said yes.

This time will be alot different this time we will save our money first then pay for the item knowing we have the cash. unfortunately last trip has to be on credit because my husband wasn't pay for three months. So hope this time we can do more shopping.

Now everybody is rubbing it in about free dining :rotfl: your son must be super excited. My mind is going to explode from all of the things we need to decide on and organise. Ahhh if money was endless, pity I didn't win lotto on New Years.

It is good that you are going to have time to save, I have worked out how much we can save by the time we go. Unfortunately it isn't as much as I would like. I think we will have to put a little bit on credit, and pay off when we get home, not enough to get in financial trouble though. The last thing I want to be doing on holiday is worrying about food and rent when we get home.
