Two Months Out - Any Chance of Getting HDDR BEFORE 9:30?

We are a party of 4 and I just tried to make ressies for HDDR in August and could not get a table before 9:30. I did book the 9:30 time, but I would really like to go earlier if we could.

I tried 3 different days. I don't want to go on a park day, so I tried our arrival day and our 2 "off" days and there was nothing.

Does anyone think that we have any chance of getting an earlier time if I keep calling?

I had the same problem with LeCellier and ended up booking a mid-afternoon lunch ADR instead of dinner. How many in your party? It seems that our being a "party of 5" is what was causing so much trouble. The CM kept commenting that it would be easier if we were a smaller party, and asked if there were more than 2 adults in our party so she could put us at 2 tables. When I first called, I had a certain date in mind. Near the end of our call, she'd searched for dinner reservations from 8/16 - 8/24 and lunch for all those days as well. I'd almost given up when she came up with a 2:10 ADR on 8/23. You can always keep trying for an earlier time.

Thanks for your encouragement Tina or Luis! You know that HDDR has 3 seatings - 5, 7:15, and 9:30. A 9:30 dinner which will last until 11:30 and then to travel back to Pop Century will just blow the next morning - whatever night it is. We are a party of 4. Last year DH and I went and I was able to get reservations at 5:00 for us less than 2 months out - but that was only 2 of us. But we had GREAT seats - right up in the front.

I will keep trying. I was successful getting into a Value, so I hope that I am as lucky with this.

And yes, things do seem to be working out.

I just last week got a 5pm ADR for HDDR for Aug 24th. I was kind of surprised to be able to get it. I would keep trying to get an earlier show in case somebody cancels. You could even try the day of the show. All you need is one party to cancel. Good Luck!

On our trip in 04 I booked it 6 months in advance and still could only get 9:30, it was for a table of 5 though. I was concerned also because it was so late and I had a 2yo. It ended up working out great since the 2yo took a good nap before the show and was in great spirits the whole time. It is kinda hard to go to sleep on a full belly though.

OK, I am getting a little nervous here. Too much has gone my way today.

First I was able to switch to Pop Century this morning from CBR like I wanted.

Then DD's band director said "No Problem" to DD missing band camp while we were at WDW.

NOW, I got HDDR at 5:00 for the 21st!

Why can't I just enjoy good fortune???
