is it possible to have two DVC members use combine points to rent a two bedroom for a week? Or will we need to split the week up using party A points for the first half and then party B for the second half. If so how does that work? Will we be able to stay in the same room or is it possible we would need to relocate?

You could transfer points from one to the other and have the transferree book the room.

There's no way to know if you would be able to stay in the room, if you did two bookings, until you're there and they know the room's status in terms of assignment.

As mentioned you can do a transfer if neither of you has done one yet in the UY you are going to use. Otherwise you can each reserve part of the reservation and then due a 3 way call to MS to link the reservations together. This should keep you in the same room but you would want to confirm with the front desk when you check in that they see you have a continuing stay.

I have done it this way about 4 times now, and we have not had a problem staying in the same room. The front desk just assigns the second part to us when we stop in to check with them. An advantage to doing it this way is that this is a split stay and you can get the dining plan for just a few days if you wish.

I've done it both ways but usually I book some nights, my friend the other nights. Member Services then links the reservations so it looks like one. I think the last time I did it was at VGC in 2012. Didn't have to check back in.

I have two memberships and have had to book some nights on one and the other nights on the second one and have never had to change rooms. If you are splitting with someone else, I think booking some nights on one and some on the other might be a good idea as then each retains some control. Once you transfer, the points belong to the other member and if the trip gets canceled, the person who transferred the points is out of luck unless something can be worked out.
