That's not all you did. You made it a point to talk about how you have higher standards than the rest of us. Of course, not everyone did this. But don't pretend to be the injured party when you were slinging mud yourself.taxmom04 said:I can't understand why there isan't a little more tolerance and compassion, from many of you, to those who simply ask for the G-rating to stay clean of
curse words. That's all we ask for: one rating out of the 5 or 6 available.
I had a friend who watched movies before letting her kids see them, read books before letting her kids read them, never swore around the kids and bugged her DH not to.
She couldn't believe I let the kids watch Die Hard and read whatever they wanted, much less play with kids whose parents I didn't know well (horrors!). She didn't even like her kids to be around DH - he's a TOTAL potty mouth and (for better or worse) doesn't pretend not to be for the kids.
A week after she'd told her 12 year old that she couldn't read Catcher in the Rye (it would have corrupted her at such a young age) the 12 year old told Mommy that she was pregnant!

Of course, not all silly parents end up with pregnant 12 year olds. But a whole bunch of us who'd been lectured by Mrs. Perfect Mom had to laugh a little bit.
