Two curse words in the previews before "Cars" which is a rated G movie. Anyone else?

I can't understand why there isan't a little more tolerance and compassion, from many of you, to those who simply ask for the G-rating to stay clean of
curse words. That's all we ask for: one rating out of the 5 or 6 available.

That's not all you did. You made it a point to talk about how you have higher standards than the rest of us. Of course, not everyone did this. But don't pretend to be the injured party when you were slinging mud yourself.




I had a friend who watched movies before letting her kids see them, read books before letting her kids read them, never swore around the kids and bugged her DH not to.

She couldn't believe I let the kids watch Die Hard and read whatever they wanted, much less play with kids whose parents I didn't know well (horrors!). She didn't even like her kids to be around DH - he's a TOTAL potty mouth and (for better or worse) doesn't pretend not to be for the kids.

A week after she'd told her 12 year old that she couldn't read Catcher in the Rye (it would have corrupted her at such a young age) the 12 year old told Mommy that she was pregnant!

Of course, not all silly parents end up with pregnant 12 year olds. But a whole bunch of us who'd been lectured by Mrs. Perfect Mom had to laugh a little bit.

Personally I was more offended by the "How to eat fried worms preview." I don't want her repeting that for sure. My 10 year old nephew was with us, it looked just up his alley.

Totally forgot about that. DISGUSTING.

We won't be catching that one in theaters when it is out.

Though wow--is the Pepsi girl growing up. (implying beverage is Pepsi and nothing more. )



Now--what in the world is Flicka about?

Now--what in the world is Flicka about?

Yes she is growing up. (no more lisp now I hope.)

Flicka looks like it is about a family with a rebellious teenager who feels emotionally connected to a wild horse and her struggle to grow up and get along with her father. There is some side drama of keeping the ranch and all. It looks good, but not funny at all as my 5 year old said. She thought it was rather a downer.

I can see how it's target audience was kind of the car's crowd. The older crowd. It looked like one of the more mature Disney live action films.

We saw Cars today, and it had the Flicka preview. I only noticed them saying "damn" once, and I think it only registered because I had read this thread. This thread also made me look around at the people around me for their response , and actually I did not see anyone seem to notice. I know my son and the little boy sitting next to him did not notice, because they were engaged in a conversation about when was the movie going to start.
