:surfweb: Who the hell convinced me to put one of those TimeLeft softwares in my work's computer. I swear it stopped working last month....Oh!, Hi! Didn't notice you there. So glad you stop by my First Attempt to make a pre-trip...Since you are here...let me introduce our cast!

n501838632_50156_3643.jpg

DB: aka Pirate Stitch. 25. Computer Engineering Student, Lovely geek, love video games, learning, photography and travel (and me , of course), 4th Trip to Disney, but first on-site.

n121801687_30619113_6451.jpg

Me aka Pirate Tink.27. Computer Engineer but starting a MFA in Photography. Geek. Felt in love with Disney on my first (and only) trip. Compulsive planner. Scrapbooker. Moving to Atlanta Soon...(Woohoo, 6 hours from FL:rotfl: )

Now, that we've been properly introduced, lets give u a little Background:

While growing-up, my parents never were to thrilled about going to Disney (yes, I know, but I promise they are GOOD parents). So, we never went and our love for Disney were only for the movies. But, my luck changed when in 2005, I won a 4 days/3 nights in a Days Inn in Kissimmee. "Yes, a chance to go th Florida and swim with the dolphins" I thought. So, like a good planner compulsive I am, I started planning...Added 2 days to our stay, reserved Discovery Cove which gave us a Sea World Pass, then a good real deal to Universal and Islands of adventure...Umm, I have one and a half day left to do something...Going to FL and not going to Disney is like not going at all. So, a Disney 2-day was added...Little did I know that those two days were the begin of a Disney addiction...

This is us, back then...when I wasn't a Disney addict...

We had a blast on that trip...but when I saw the photos...I KNEW that I need to loose some weight...so, I did!

SharBA.jpg

July 2006....While working on the Trip Scrapbook...(Yeap, a Year later...)
Me: "Umm, I don't like how I look on these pics"
DB: "Well, you are 45lbs less, babe"
Me: "I need to have better pics"
DB: "Uh? What you mean?"
Me: "WE NEED TO GO BACK, to take better pics, I mean...I NEED IT!"
DB: " I don't like that look on your face..."
Me: "What you are doing from July 8-19?"
DB: "What?!?!?"
Me: "I booked a 8 days/7 nights to AKL and 5 days/4 nights to HRH @ Universal...Don't Worry...I'll pay for it. I'm the worker here...hehe"
DB: ""

And that's how this adventure begins...

NEXT: How to start planning a Disney vacation...Planner Freak Style!

Umm...I need to do something to make my Pre-Tripie more interesting...A catchy thing...any suggestions? :rotfl: ...

Next Installment I'll try to make it more fun

I think you're doing great! I'm hooked already - keep those installments coming! :teeth:

Hi! My name is Sharma. (Hello, Sharma!) And I'm a Planner Freak!

Yeap, I am...and Proud of it! All I need is to make the decision of do something and the Planner Freak in me takes over. I NEED TO PLAN. Since the success of the last time, I bought a Passporter (somebody heard our cry and made a book for planners, God Bless them!)

DSC_0076.jpg

This little brown book is my perfect-fit...

Once the book arrived, time to start playing with the dates...Did you know that Disney doesn't have rates info like 15 months before? (Inhuman!)...So, Wait it is....
....
......
........
.........
...........
............

But, thank God...time flew...and I got my dates! July 8-15, Pool View AKL, tickets and Dinning Plan...THE WHOLE PACKAGE! Hey, it's my first time on site...I have to make it BIG!

Second, if you are DISer you know what I did next...

DSC_0086-1.jpg

Yeap, you were right! Started my trips to Home Depot to get my LGMHs!!! I wouldn't been a good Planner AND DISer if I forgot that!!! As you see they are almost ready to be hanged everywhere: door, windows, bags...Umm, I think I'll need more!!!

Third, I started gathering my DISNEY STUFF. You know all those bear-necessities for Disney trips. The first thing is of course: MICKEY EARS! Since I'm a pirate at heart and this summer is a PIRATES SUMMER...

DSC_0088.jpg

These are coming with us. Yes, I know that there are girls ones, but I preferred red over pink.

Now it's time for what I called the DISNEY BIN. Here in DIS I found a good idea (of course! where else? :upsidedow ) of having a bin to keep Trip-related things in one single place...
DSC_0075.jpg

I already bought sunscreen, you can see my passport, some toiletries and a Dollar-store raincoat ready to be ship...into my luggage.

Since the whole excuse for this trip (yeah, right like you need an excuse for a Disney trip) was to renew my photos and because I'm starting my masters in photography this fall, I needed a new camera...
Nikond40.jpg

But, I needed something to carry her (it's a she), too. Something that would be DISNEY-rides-running appropriate. Thanks to the magic behind eBay, I found a perfect bag...

DSC_0085.jpg

She fits perfect in it and it's so light. It also has pockets for money and Room cards.:thumbsup2

I already have my Disney-trip necessities running...Stay in touch for more!!

Next: ADRs! Yes! I can predict what I want to eat 180days in advance

Where were we? Ah, yeah, ADRs!!! The ADRS...
If you are a planner freak like me, you are more than pleased with the 180 days advance Dinning reservation (ADRs). You've been "blessed" with the ability to predict what you want to do...with months and months ahead. :wizard:

As you already know, this is the first time on-site and with the dinning plan. I depended on my fellow DISers to let me know where are the best places or the fun ones. So, I started 3 months before my 180-days (yeap I'm THAT freak) mark to research and devour every Dinning Report possible. I was sure that I wanted to do the Lilo & Stitch Breakfast, only for the characters! We both LOVE Lilo & Stitch so it was a must. And I wanted to try "knowing" my all time Nanny Mary Poppins. After a few more readings, and waiting for the "official" Dinning Plan Booklet to be released, I pretty much came up with a descent list. I know there is a constant debate on it is fair or not to share the Dinning Plan. Since I don't eat much and we share everywhere we go to eat anyways, We are going to give it a try. But I also have in mind to leave the waiter the tip for the extra plate.

Here is my list so far:

Wolfgang Express DD
Raglan Road
Biergarten
Somewhere @ World Pavilion
Somewhere@ Typhoon Lagoon
Earl of Sandwich
Tusker House
Mama's Melrose
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sci-Fi
Boma (Breakfast & Dinner) - Have to try them both:thumbsup2
The Mara (for most of the breakfast)
Princess Storybook Breakfast (it was supposed to be Supercalifragilistic but it'll be under refurbish)
Ohana's Breakfast with Lilo&Stitch

Okay, I was ready to call when I remembered that....IT still 1 month to 180 day mark :faint: "I HAVE TO WAIT!":sad2: ...Thank GOD that it was near Xmas and the Holiday Spirit made me forgot for a little while about it. :santa: :lmao:

I WAITED and WAITED, until one bright and beautiful day, my alarm turned on! IT WAS TIME!!! So, I called to Dinner Reservation. I have to say, I NEVER was treated with so grace and dedication. She waited patienctly until I gave her everyone of my choices. It was like 2 ressies for day for 8 days! They really made me feel special! Thanks! :goodvibes Everything went uneventful except that I wanted the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast (I just LOVE Mary Poppins) but the GF will be under refurbish (or at least the 1900). Maybe I'll find her in England @ Epoct or something!!!! No BIGGIE....BECAUSE I"M GOING TO DISNEY!!! That is what matter...:woohoo:

NEXT: "Do I need to cancel MY TRIP?!?!?!?!!?:scared1:" or the day I almost lost my job.

Stay tunned...popcorn::

Before continuing with my Report I just wanted to take a minute to say...

:dance3: 60 days to GO!!:dance3:

With that in our minds, lets continue.

The story I'm about to tell you, happened almost 4 months ago. As you may recall, I started planning this trip almost 15 months before the selected date. So for January everything was running. I made a short trip to Atlanta to visit some friends (fell in love with the city. ...and moving there in August), when I came back, I was received by the awful new that my company were making cuts.:scared1:

A little back ground here: I work at a Start-up company in Puerto Rico since 2004. I knew it was a risk working for a Start-up but I liked here. It sounded like fun...And it was! At least, until the money issue arrived. 3 years later, I was setting in the conference room hearing those dreadful words: "Tomorrow half of you will be gone, and the other half will have a salary reduction of 20% (working 4 days instead of 5)". You've heard of those words, and no matter how you think you are prepared for them, it's never the same.

Fortunately, I was one of the "stays". But my Disney plans were in GREAT DANGER!!! With that cut, I had to stop my monthly Disney Savings! And started thinking...Should I cancel my trip?:guilty: ...And a loud crack !...my heart started to fall into pieces... "Could it be? I've been putting so much effort into this trip...I can't cancel!! I want to go" Then I did the most intelligent thing to do with that kind of stress....

....I went to sleep.

The next morning...was like a morning in every Disney movie, birds chirping, the background music...and.... "Let's try to sell somethings, cut my "diversion" money...Umm I think I could make it"...So I took another risk...continuing with the plans. And It turned out to be the best. 2 months later, we were back to normal...WITH FULL CHECK and Everything....so, I feel more relief now:woohoo: SO, DISNEY...HERE WE COME!!!!

NEXT: More Disney bear-necessities...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"May I have your attention please...(microphone feed back....) ...Yes, Thank you! I'm here today to tell you something very important...

:dance3: 59 DAYS!!!!:dance3:

That would be all. Thank you!"

I'm scrapbooker. Not in a freaky-addicted way. But I like it a lot. I love to take pictures so having a nice, fun and "durable" way to show them is great. Part of the goal in the last trip was acquiring every piece of possible memory to put in the Album. I have to say that...Mission Accomplished. I came back with maps, tickets, unused fast passes, brochures, napkins, and even some cups. The problem was that when I returned...everything ended up in my scrapbook table, not in the album as I in visioned. :rolleyes1

So, for this next trip a promise myself that I have until the week before the departing day to finish it. "Or you are not buying, taking nor having anything for this trip album. ENOUGH SAID!" Needless to say that I started my album, and stopped, and continued, and stopped a little more...I even tried to join the Scrapbook Monthly Challenges in the The Creative Community - Scrapbooking. But didn't work as expected. I need some motivation...I think the self-threat could work.

Here is how my scrapbook table looks right now:

DSC_0077.jpg

Little messy...but it's creative chaos:rotfl: .

And these are some of the pages I finished so far:

What you think!? Would I finish on time? I have some motivation going on!:hyper:...I WANT AN ALBUM for the Next TRIP with me THINNER :rotfl: !!!!:dance3: See ya soon!!!

NEXT: The art or making T-Shirt for the trip...a new obsession.

I am so happy you were able to keep your Disney trip! Thank goodness everything worked out with your job!

Can't wait to read more! :teeth:

It's a relief I'm not alone in the late-trip-scrapbook syndrome!:rotfl: About the T-shirt, I was originally thinking about making one with the Hotel logo, and one for the each character breakfast...but I have two months till the trip so...everything could happen!:lmao: Thanks for reading!
