Two bedroom question

Is a dedicated two bedroom a different booking category than a lock-off? Or is it based on luck which type of room Disney assigns you?

For most resorts, dedicated and lock-off are 2 different options. Some specific room categories only have lock-off (I know AKL Club Level is that way). But it's an important distinction. The dedicated 2BR will have a studio side with 2 actual beds. The 2BR lock-offs will have a bed and a pullout/Murphy setup (except for OKW which has 2 beds in all studios and 2BRs). Dedicated has one door of entry. Lock-off will have 2 doors. Hope that helps - probably told you things you already know! Be sure to select the option you prefer.

They are separate booking categories. If the room type doesn't specifically include "lock off", it's a dedicated.

If your room layout matters to you, I would ask which the rental is for. There are advantages to both layouts, depending on the situation of guests staying in the room.

@thanxfornoticin That's why I was asking - we really need the dedicated two bedroom - a person with a bad back who doesn't want to sleep on a pull out bed, and the need to not have another door on the additional bedroom. Luckily - it's all confirmed with what I want!

BWV and AKV Jambo have only lock-off 2BRs (and all the AKV value and club level rooms are in Jambo), Poly has no 2BRs (yet) other than the bungalows. BCV, BRV, VGF, BLT, OKW, AKV KIdani, SSR, Riviera, Vero, VGC, and Aulani all have both lock-off and dedicated 2BRs and each is a separate booking category. CCV has both dedicated and lock-off 2BRs with three booking categories -- dedicated, lock-off with just a shower in the studio portion, or a lock-off which would have the studio with a combined tub and shower. Hilton Head has both lock-off and dedicated 2BRs but only one booking category "2-Bedroom Villa," and getting one or the other is a non-guaranteed request; nevertheless, requesting and getting a dedicated 2BR has a high probability of success since 75% of the HH rooms are dedicated 2BRs.
