Well, I thoght I would try to put together a trip report to see if I could make it a success. This trip happened over a year ago, but I wanted to write about it anyway. So here it goes...
Let's start with the cast and a little pre-trip background info.
Me- 28 (at the time) I'm a stay at home Mom now, I used to be in the Army but was discharged due to disability. This is how I met Amanda, the other Army girl in the story.
Nachito- My DS, 4 yo at the time. Right before this trip he is measured to be tall enough for the "big boy" rides.
Leila- My DD, 20 months at the time. This is her first trip to see the Mouse. Mommy is very excited!!
Amanda- 24/25 at the time. This is a celebration trip for Amanda. We are celebrating her 25th birthday and the end of her time in the Army. This is her as we leave for the Airport
Stephen- Amanda's DS, 6 months at the time. This is his first trip too, but he isn't really too concerned about anything except his bottle
Okay that is the cast that goes to WDW, there is also my DH, but he is in Iraq at the time and Amanda's DH who decided he didn't want to go.
A little pre trip info to set the stage...
We started planning our trip about a year before we went. We ended up picking our dates for October because my 10 year High School reunion was in late October and Amanda's last day in the Army was October 17. After I found the DIS, I started really planning our trip. I made all of our dinning ressies and even got us tickets to MNSSHP, which I didn't even know existed. I made a paper chain for the kids to keep track of when we were leaving. DH came home for a couple of weeks in September and he pretended he didn't care we were going to WDW without him, but I knew how he really felt about it
After he went back to Iraq we started getting ready to go to Florida.
The day before we leave, I run around town dopping my dogs off at other peoples houses. My Dalmation, Patches, goes to Lorrena's house, my Pug, Zeus, goes to Julia's house and my Chihuahua, Kay, and my cat, Kitty, go to stay with Amanda's DH. I only mention this because it plays into the story later.
On October 18th very early in the morning, I got the kids up and dressed and ready to go. Amanda came over to our house so we could leave from the same place, it was a really long walk down from her house two houses away
One of my other Army girl-friends, Lorrena who is watching Patches, came to drive us to airport at like 5:30 in the morning. That is the test of friendship, however it doesn't mean as much to an Army Staff Sergeant because she has to get up at 5:30 to get ready for PT (physical training) anyway. My kids were very excited,and I would love to post pictures, but I do not know what happened to my pics from the first week in Florida 
Well I think I will continue tomorrow with landing in Florida and a trip to Hard Rock Cafe and a looong drive down I-4 to my parents house in Palm Harbor. Stay tuned!!!
