Two Adults on a Disney Cruise! 4/10 MR Wonder ***FINISHED*** TRIP REPORT!!!

I have just read the whole trip report in one sitting. Thanks for sharing. We have a Mexican Riviera cruise booked for October and it was great to read about your experience.

One thing that made me happy is that they wave off the ship with the big Mickey hands in Los Angeles as well. I always love this at Port Canaveral. I also like that the Petit Fours for the Bon Voyage package are now in a pretty box. This looks great. I have surprised DH with this for the last two cruises. I was not going to do it this time round, but I think I just changed my mind.

I love your Booney and Bourke wristlet. When I bought mine on the Westbound Transatlantic cruise last year, they only had the white ones. The coloured ones where introduced shortly afterwards. I got the tassle purse on our Panama Canal cruise and I can honestly say that with the exception of our recent vacation to Dubai, I have never left the house without them since I had them. Blue is my favourite colour so I am budgeting for another wristlet for the next cruise.

I love the brushes. I am sure that everybody got plenty of use out of them.

I had heard this about the vegetarian dishes before. Some people from the cruise meet thread on our Transatlantic cruise are vegetarians and they described the food as just about edible. One of our table mates on the Panama Canal Cruise tried a few of the vegetarian dishes and for the most part, she was bitterly disappointed. I only ever tried one vegetarian dish, which our server brought out for DH and me to share, which was Portobello Mushroom Ravioli and they were utterly delicious.

It is a shame that you ended up sitting by yourselves. We made so many wonderful friends that we met by sharing a table and kept in touch with quite a few of them. Two of them will actually be our guests for our vow renewal. We did a back to back cruise with another line in 2009 and we were both surprised just how much we were missing sharing a table at dinner.

I love the photo of the sunrise on the first sea day. This is so pretty.

I will miss the old comforters. I really loved them. I always said that I really want one of those for my bedroom at home. Maybe now that they have been replaced, they might turn up on Ebay. I would be all over this.

I am glad that you enjoyed the Tequilla tasting. I might do this again on our next cruise. With this cruise going to Mexico, a Tequilla tasting is almost compulsory. I can see that you had the coffee flavoured Tequilla. Our favourite bartender on the Magic introduced me to this and I love this stuff. Unfortunately it is not readily available in the UK or I would have bought a bottle of this by now.

I really love your formal night dress.

I am so hoping that Duffy will still be on the ship in October. I would love to have some photos with him. I also like the new comforters, but will miss the old ones.

I am so glad that they have added the Mojito tasting. I am actually part of a bit of history. We had a huge DIS group for the Westbound Transatlantic last year and we asked DCL to host a bunch of private tastings for us. Most of them were the standard tastings that they offer on every cruise, but we also requested a Drink of the Day tasting and a Mojito tasting. Initially it was a no on both counts and it stayed a no for Drinks of the Day. However, they have some bartenders on the Magic that are very passionate about Mojitos and they finally agreed to this. We kept being told that this was the first time they ever did this and everybody had a fantastic time. They were very keen to get our feedback. Obviously they took our feedback on board and decided to roll this out as a normal tasting.

The mushroom polenta at Palo is one of my all time favourite dishes. I am glad to hear that this is still on the menu. I love Osso Bucco and have never seen this on the menu at Palo before. I think I have to try this in October.

I really hope that we are going to get a second day in Cabo in October rather than a day at Mazatlan. For me this has nothing to do with being worried about safety, but everything to do with the fact that Mazatlan never appealed to me as a port. If we only get one day at Cabo, I will do Trainer for a Day at they dolphin facility there and DH wants to do the Sea of Cortez snorkelling trip. However, if we do get a bonus day, I really would love to do the boat trip. We just walked around the marina and to Medano Beach when we were there in January.

I have always felt that desserts are the weak point on DCL. There is a couple of desserts I quite like (Creme Brulee Cheesecake and Chocolate Vanilla S'Mores Cake), but there are only two desserts in the normal dining room that have wowed me. One is the Grand Marnier Souffle and they other is a Pistacchio and Kona Cafe Mousse, which is only served on cruises that are longer than 7 nights.

Regarding Cabo - If you do end up spending just one day in Cabo, it will probably be a full day, verses our two half days. The little boat ride around Lands End probably took 20-30 minutes at the most so you should have no problems fitting it in, even with your other plans!

I think it will be too tight. we are scheduled to be in Cabo from 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (same as on the Panama Canal Cruise) and the programme that I want to do takes 5 hours. From memory, the dolphin centre does not open until 9 am. I was going to book this independently, but it is too risky. At least if I am on a DCL sponsored excursion, they have to wait for me.

That's a shame you only have a half day.

The problem is that it is such a long way from Cabo back to Los Angeles. I know the captain mentioned that they were running the Wonder flat out for the entire way up the coast.

Oh my Mindyjoy! It looks amazing! I'm so excited now that it's going to be that much harder to count down the days! (93 :goodvibes) You two sound just me me and my DF! We should totally meet up for drinks or something! I am an animator working on cartoons for autistic children, and my DF is our Tech guy, but he wants to be a writer! What a small world, huh? I am totally going to follow in your footsteps and create a little journal just like this for our friends and family.

Did you hook up with other people from here before you went on board, or did you just meet them there? I'd love to find some people to celebrate with!

I didn't meet up with anyone beforehand. We all met up in the lobby area on the first day, and it was great to put faces to the screennames I had been chatting with for so long!

I did some quick math and I think this might be your cruise meet thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2305013

I'm glad you enjoyed my PJ. :goodvibes

Oh awesome! I'll have to check it out! It will be nice to make some new friends to celebrate with! I'm racking my brain to design our door decor, and it's quite addictive! This is going to be great! :bride:

If you search around the DIS you will find some wedding designs ... I altered a couple of them to read Just Engaged. Be careful ... making magnets is addicting!

Fun trip report! S Subbing so I can finish reading it later.

Thanks so much, glad you are enjoying it.

Thanks for such an awesome report. I am going on my first trip in Nov with my Mom to the Mexican Riviera. I have been reading a lot of the reports to get a feel for the cruise. It was really nice to read a report that was 2 adults.

Thanks again ... :thumbsup2
