has anyone done twilight check in with virgin at gatwick before? We will be staying at the sofitel the night before so would be possible. not sure how it all works.:upsidedow

We did it last year and there was no problem whatsoever. Exactly the same as an ordinary check-in only much quicker. You get your boarding passes there and then and the next day go straight to departures. Make sure you pack money, valuables etc in your hand luggage though.

Hi,

we have just returned. Twighlight check in is all very well, BUT, when we used it a couple of weeks ago round 5pm we wished we hadn't.

When we arrived to go through security, we weren't told the flight already had a 6 hour delay (if you checked in after 7pm at twighlight you were told )- so spent 7 hours in the VERY CROWDED departure lounge - only then to be told it was another hour's delay, then cancelled due to flight crew times being too long!!!! It snowed that day - so they blamed it on the snow...... mmmmm...

Moral of the story..... If you do twighlight check in, make sure to go by the desk in the morning anyhow to check on the actual departure time....

We've done exactly that several times, elkvideo. Everyone in your party needs to be present at check-in. You will get your seats allocated, so that's one less thing to worry about. Even so, we always book our seats well in advance and check-in online 24 hours before-hand - a complete "belt and braces" job. :rotfl:

Building up to the trip, we save bits and pieces of toiletries for the Sofitel. We use them that night and the following morning and then discard them - ends of tubes of toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, old toothbrushes (we buy new ones for the trip which we pack). I keep free samples of things like moisturiser from women's magazines. I wash out my knickers before bed and hang them to dry in the bathroom. Too much information? :rotfl: Just remember that hand luggage is still fairly restricted and that you'll need to put any make-up and similar liquids in a small, clear, sealable plastic bag. I use Tesco re-sealable food bags.

Twilight check-in is always quiet and it's great to get up the next morning knowing you've got an easy trip across to the South Terminal with no luggage. You've then just got to get through security and...relax. We always do a bit of duty free shopping before heading for the Clubhouse Lounge.

what time does twilight check in start?? And as I am hoping for a sky cot shall I get there as soon as it opens?? (I have already requested one)

thanks alot!!:thumbsup2

It opens at midday. I really wouldn't worry about getting there too early. The vast majority of people on your flight won't be checking in until the day itself.
