You sound like you're getting back in the groove! If you truly want to lose weight without dieting per se, just give up or seriously limit anything made with white flour or sugar. That alone should help you immensely.

Don't forget to drink your water - 8-10 glasses a day! That helps too!

Walking is great exercise! I know my DH and I always enjoy walks together - it's a great way to spend time with each other, chatting about our days, our plans & dreams, etc.

Losing weight to have a child should help keep you on track. I can tell you I was overweight with my second child, and it was a much harder pregnancy. I had blood pressure problems due to the weight. Even if you can get down to 180, you would be much healthier to get pregnant. You can eat healthy while pregnant and keep your weight gain down.

What can I say? I find that reading you all's posts and journals really helps me to get motivated if I start to get a little depressed. Things are starting to settle down for DH and me, so I find that it will be easier to focus on improving our health. We discovered last night that DH is starting to break the seams of his pants :eek: He'll be joining me in our Quest for Health and Proper Fitting Pants :p

The smiley for today is :bounce: because we're off on Memorial Day! Yay! An extra day to spend with my DH!

The hardest part right now is just working out what food to eat and when. But I've already gotten great tips from my fellow DISers. Thank you!
 


I'm so happy to read that your DH is going to join you. Without my DH's support (and all his great cooking) I couldn't stay on plan (atkins) or get in my daily walk.

It really helps if you both are committed to healthy living - eating right (not competition eating) and being active. If he's bringing home the chips - and eating them too - it's just way too easy to join him. It works the other way too - DH and I have our best conversations when we walk together.

Here we go...Diet version 3.0

Today I am crying my eyes out over phrases such "insulin resistance" and "PCOS".
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

It is unfair to be told before I even start that the odds are so stacked against me.

I almost don't want to try anymore...ALMOST.
I am a Taurus so here we go!

My DH is sticking by me. I really can conquer this weight problem and my health problems. It's time to put those concerns first.
And it is time to stop crying!!!

We all have ups and downs. I have myself just been diagnosed with PCOS. I have been trying for over a year to have our second child. After many doctor appointments and many mis diagnosis' that is the verdict PCOS. So If the good lord wants me to have another child, I will. So I am with you on that struggle. Also with the weight struggle. I am now doing weight watchers, and I feel pretty good, although this is just my first week.

Well I just wanted to welcome you back and wish you good luck. You will find lots of support and encouragement here,

I do feel better today. It will not be easy but it is not impossible!
After all, I feel like admitting my health and weight are not what they should be is half the battle.

The rain here is no fun, though, because October is my favorite month and I'd love to get out and go for a walk.

But I'll let my smilie for the day be :sunny: because I know the sun will shine again and things will get easier.
 
Yea, it sure is going to be an icky rainy weekend here.

Looks like I'll be hitting the gym hot and heavy this weekend since there doesn't seem to be any let up on this rain until next week!

The weather is fantastic here today. I just hope I have the energy to go for a walk after work. I am really going to hate it when the days get shorter. I won't get home from work until dark on those days! I really enjoy walking around the neighborhood with my husband.

My husband and I really enjoyed walking the last few days. Unfortunately, the temps have gone back up. We worked in the yard this weekend. I had the pleasure of pushing the lawn mower all around. That is hard work!! But it was great exercise.

Today my smilie is :tilt: because my lunch is cold fruit, cold yogurt and cold veggies. Brrr!
 
Now that the days are getting chillier, I'm starting to drink more of my beloved decaf green tea - it warms me right up! I sweeten it with a packet of Splenda. Besides, green tea has lots of healthy anti-oxidents! ::yes:: My favorite flavor at the moment is mandarin orange - reminds me of Florida & WDW! :p

I'm recommitting also, since my "big" pants are snug. I hope you and your husband have much success! ::yes::
