DW already has DS and myself wearing tuxes for formal night. For those of you who do wear a tux on fornal night, do you also wear it on semi-formal night as well? Would we be out of place wearing a tux on semi-formal night?

Thanks,
Jeff

You will not be out of place at all.

On our first cruise, I was able to wear my own tux, but I only have one tuxedo shirt. So on semi-formal night, I wore a plain white shirt and a regular tie (tux shirt and bow tie on formal night). On our last cruise, my tux no longer fit (it shrunk while it was hanging in my closet, really). I rented from Disney's recommended site, and it came with two tuxedo shirts. So both formal and semi-formal, I was in full tuxedo attire.

I have worn my tux on both nights. I have a Mickey bow tie for semi formal night.

my husband wore his both nights. after semi-formal night he sent the shirt out for laundering. back in plenty of time and it was reasonably priced! :teleport: :earboy2:

My dh brought 2 shirts/tie/cumberbund sets with his one tux - one for semi-formal night and one for formal night

On our last cruise ds12 wore his first tux, loved it so much, that he insisted that all the guys in our party wear them for the semi-formal night also! There were a few other people wearing theirs then also so you will not feel out of place--and you have a second chance for that formal picture! :groom:

Is this formal night only on the 7 day cruises? Or, is it also on the 4 night cruises, too? Just curious.

Thanks.

Sorry Maria, Formal and Semi-Formal nights are only on the Magic since the cruises are longer.

That's fine with me!! Makes me very happy. It's ok when it's just my husband and myself, but with two boys, no thanks.

TTFN,
Maria

On our last cruise DH wore his tux to dinner at Palo as well as on both formal and semi-formal night. He said if I was going to dress up then he was too!

We saw others in Palo that night who were just as dressed up as we were and saw the same thing on semi-formal night. We also saw people who didn't get dressed up at all.

It's all about your comfort level - don't worry so much about what everyone else is going to do and just focus on what will make your vacation as enjoyable as possible for you.

I wish we wore our formal clothes on semi-formal night. My son and husband both own tuxes. Semi-formal night seemed very formal as it was the Captain's Gala night. All the waiters are in thier tuxes too. We did dine at Palo and did wear our formal clothes that night too.

Dh bought a tux last year. He's worn in on formal night as well as on semi-formal night. He figured since he was bringing it all that way why not wear it another night! We're doing back-to-back cruises in 2006 and I'm going to surprise him by getting him the Mickey cumberbund and bow tie set. :)

We brought our DS10 a tux, and he loved wearing it so much he wore it a total of 5 nights on the 10 day Xmas cruise - for once it was money well spent. I washed the shirts a couple of times, and the evenings that he only wore it for an hour and a half he hung it up and wore it again.
