Tutto Italia on meal plan 10-12-07

My family tried Tutto Italia on the dining plan. I agree that the prices are really high, but it is a great value on the meal plan.

My wife and I started with the Grand Antipasto Misto, which the waiter suggested he had "cut down" for us. So apparently this is normally for a full table. It was good.

My wife had the steak, which she though was good. It was perfectly cooked medium rare, which is hard to get these days. I had some of it and found it quite good, but also noticed it had some fat and gristle. I don't think it was worth the $36 asking price, but....

I had the Bucatini Pasta. This was good, but I did not expect it to be in such a thick Alfredo sauce. I ate about half of mine. It was just too heavy. There were a good selection of choices for the children.

For desert my wife had the cannoli and I had the Copetta Sottobosco. My wife enjoyed her cannoli and I though my dessert was out of this world. I wish I could pin down the flavor of the ice cream.

As many have noted, the prices are high. Our tab would have been $173.80 were we not on the meal plan. If I were paying cash I would skip the appetizer and split a dessert. The only thing wrong with this restaurant is that it is in Epcot, where it is full of loud children. Aside from that, we enjoyed it.

The service was fair to good. Nothing to complain about, but no raves either. We enjoyed our meal and left unpleasantly stuffed, I'm afraid.

Between you and one other reviewer, I am definitely going to skip the Bucatini Pasta!! Thanks for posting a review! Your dessert sounds tempting! I just realized that is the same dessert my mom ordered a couple of weeks ago and RAVED over! She said it was the best dessert of her ten day stay.

We just missed you there--we were at Tutto on 10/09! We had the lasagne (me) and Red Snapper and mussells (DH). DD6 had the kids pizza and bean and pasta soup. We really enjoyed everything, but each review I've read sounds different from the last. I thought it was a fantastic use of 1TS, though and our service was impeccable. I did love that tiramisu with DD's leftover pistachio gelati! (I know there are some dessert purists out there going !)

Belle5, sorry to be so long answering.

There were several artichokes, some white beans with tiny shrimp pieces, some smoked ham (proscuito?), another meat, kind of salami-like but not as fatty or spicy, olives and I can't remember what else, but it was a big plate of stuff.

Yep, that's it. If I had seen the Buccatini Pasta beforehand I sure wouldn't have ordered it, although many people love that type of dish.

I know Disney is for Families....how about better behaved families?

Our meal at the turf club was early (5pm), only us and another couple with 2 children. The 30'something husband thought it was funny for the 2 year old to smack the large, heavy knife and fork together - ALOT.
In an almost empty restaurant it was deafening! It went on through our meal, and was eventually drowned out by the two toddlers running in circles around the table while Mom and Dad drank. They should have bought us some drinks.
I was worried the heavy knife would fly out of his little hands-his parents weren't.

Has anyone asked Disney to set aside adult rooms...can we be adults in peace?
Let's be honest, if we were home these prices would warrant "dressing up" and a "date-night" effort. I feel horrible walking into a nice restaurant in sweaty shorts and tee shirt. Most nights of our trip we go back to the Villa and bath to "dress" for fancier dinner (Narcoosie's, Cinderella's Castle).

I do not want to be a grinch-even our children have asked why some parents don't control the munchkins. At the time, our 14 yr old asked me "doesn't this kid running around, screaming bother them?" He was gracious to not be heard tby the little ruffians parents.
