TUT TUT...It Looks Like RAIN! A Nikki and Tom August Adventure! BABY PIC pg. 23!!! :)

I've always heard such great things about Tusker House. Maybe they were just having an off day? Its always fun to make your friends and family jealous with photos of things they would enjoy! :rotfl:

I really enjoyed the breakfast at Tusker House, but I've never tried lunch :confused3

I HATE the Backlot Tour! I think I refused to ride it last time.

I've been so bad at catching up, but it looks like you guys had fun! So sad you won't be in Epcot for my next trip, but one of these days we will make our schedules work!!

I really like Primeval Whirl, but then again, I"m a big Tea Cups fan... so you put mild roller coaster with tea cups and I'm good! :woohoo: Although it doesn't really spin fast...just kind of rotates around. My son will ride ToT, RnR and EE but will not even consider PW or Teacups!:sad2:

However, last time we rode it, I got a little nauseous. The trip before, we rode it several times in a row because there was no line. I think it has to do with the heat (it was really hot) and I was feeling a bit too parched. I've noticed that if I get dehydrated, I get nauseous and rides that I wouldn't normally. I got nauseous on Run-off Rapids at BB and I totally love that one. After that, I realized that since you can't really carry beverages around with you when you're going from slide to slide, that I hadn't had enough water that day. I have to make sure I'm drinking enough.

It wasn't that it makes me nauseous, it's just uncomfortable being banged around.

hi:wave2: .. totally subbing this report. :thumbsup2
We are practically neighbors. I live in Tinton Falls, NJ
We also have the same time of trip plans... always better with an adult beverage. :lmao:

Oh cool! Hey neighbor! :) SO much better with an adult beverage! ;)

I don't know. I'm not a very adventurous eater so maybe it was just me.

Yes we had the breakfast once before and enjoyed it much more.

Glad you agree about the Backlot Tour. Booo!

I'm sad we won't be able to make it work to meet up with you but we will DEFINITELY make it happen at some point in the future!

Day 4 - August 19 2012

We left Animal Kingdom after a quick rainstorm and headed back to CBR.

We all showered and got ready for an evening of EMH at MK.

Tom and I went down to the Banana Cabana for another quick drink and a phone call to his mom for her birthday.

Pretty soon, we were off!

IMG_1859.jpg

As soon as we pulled into the MK, guess what?? It starts raining! So we quickly get ourselves all together with our rain coats, which is kind of a pain. Especially when your bag is over one shoulder under your raincoat and then it's impossible to go through security check without taking everything off and putting it back on again. Ugh!

But once we were finally in, I was just happy to be walking down Main Street USA!

IMG_1860.jpg

I had to use the bathroom so I went to the one right near Town Hall and Tom and Bri went into the Emporium.

At this point, it was drizzling but still doable. We spent some time walking through the stores on the left side of Main Street. When I was done, I stepped outside and snapped a pic looking down Main Street and the impending doom! And looking up Main Street.

Just as we were ready to leave, it started POURING!! Like crazy amounts of rain. Main Street totally cleared out.

We were under an awning just outside a store door. Every once in a while, some family would say "screw it" and just ran out into the rain but for the most part, we were all just waiting for it to let up, at least a little.

IMG_1864.jpg

I don't remember the details and order of exactly what we did so I'm just going to breeze through this part.

At some point we rode HM.

At some point we went to get pizza from Pinoccio's Village Haus. Even though there were EMH, most food places closed at 9 so luckily we got there just in time.

The pizza was REALLY good but kind of greasy so didn't feel the best after it.

Then we went to ride Pirates....

DSC_0252.jpg

This is the best picture I've ever been able to get of the eternal chess match. There was absolutely NO line for Pirates. Like a complete walk on and I think we may have even had the whole boat to ourselves.

Tom wanted to get some coffee, it was still rainy on and off, it was cold and we were wet and uncomfortable. We were in the hub of Fantasyland when the fireworks started and we just weren't feeling it. I know a lot of people say watching from behind the castle is a good spot but I completely disagree. Totally ruins the experience of the show when you can't see the fireworks behind the castle. So we ran into Mickey's Philharmagic which had no line. Well for some reason, there was a HUUUUUGE wait. Like way more than one run through of the show. At one point the lights for the automatic door flashed like it was time but we still had to wait for a long while after that. Pretty soon, loads of people started coming in, presumably because the fireworks had just finished. I really think that they purposely waited for the fireworks to be over so they could fill the theater. Not cool.

After the show, which was great as always, we found a place that was open in Fantasyland to get our coffee.

I wanted to see the new Dumbo, especially at night so we headed that way just to check it out.

I think after this, we headed towards Tomorrowland and Bri and I stood in the standby line to ride Space Mountain.

We left well before EMH was over and I feel like that happens all the time with us in MK at night. We just end up wandering around aimlessly, really not knowing what do it. But we were glad to have been able to do what we got done and headed back for a good night's sleep and a restful day tomorrow - or so was the plan!!!

Wow! It really stinks that you had so much rain on your trip. I only remember one time we had that much rain on our AK day. We waited in the line for EE for over an hour because the ride was closed down due to the rain and it didn't appear to be letting up. So we eventually left the line and tried waiting it out in a gift shop until we finally gave up and left the park :crazy2: I hope the rain didn't ruin the experience for Tom's niece.

Ugh on all the rain!!!

That Dumbo Photo is AWESOME!

I am usually a morning park person and not so much a night one so not sure we will make it through any evening EMH either! I do have a DHS Morning EMH planned... WE will see how that goes as it will be my first EMH ever!

Ugh, so much rain! :crazy2: I don't mind some sprinkles in WDW, but I cannot deal with the pouring! I try to make the best of it, but once I get drenched, forget it, I'm ready to go back to my room and change! :rotfl2:

I don't think I could ever watch Wishes from behind the castle! I know a lot of people love it but it's just weird to me, I like being in the front! :confused3

Can't believe you had to wait so long for Philharmagic!

Haha, I know how you feel about EMH at MK, we just wander around too! :rotfl2: I always have such grand plans before we get there, but then we get there and we have no idea where to go!

love that Dumbo shot with the blur.... :thumbsup2

We have had that kind of rain too..... I think it was last August...the same exact week as a matter of fact!

On our last trip, we ducked into Philharmagic and expected it to be half full as normal, but it was a completely full theater... and the A/C wasn't keeping the humidity out, so it was so hot and humid. It was the first time I totally didn't enjoy it. I couldn't wait to get out of that hot crowded theater! :scared:

Maybe its because Scary Adventure is closed? Like Soarin' is a lot worse line wise because Test Track is closed and all the "family" mild thrillers are going to Soarin'. Mission Space isn't really taking the crowds away from Soarin because it doesn't really seem to draw the same audience. IMHO

Yay!! Another TR!!:cool1: I followed your last couple TRs and you write great reports! It really must have been different having another person coming along on your trip, especially since it's usually the two of you. But, I do hope she had a great time! We are bringing my entire family along for the ride on our April trip, and I'm extremely interested to see how it's going to go! I just hope everyone has a great time.:goodvibes

It's amazing how much you guys can drink in WS!! Each time we try, we get through maybe 1-2 drinks before we're really feeling it. We must be the worst lightweights. Looking at your pictures of your drinks always makes me want to try so many things!! I haven't given the beers in WS a chance yet, and I feel like that'll be a must! I love both of your appreciation for Epcot! It really is an amazing park.

We usually LOVE EHM at MK, but interestingly, on our September trip, we weren't that into it, either. I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe because we were so exhausted during our entire week from our wedding?:rotfl: Looking through those MK EMH pictures just makes me exhausted all over again!:lmao:

Can't wait to keep reading!!!

I know, rain can really stink but we made the best of it. I don't think it ruined her experience at all!

Enjoying your report! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you and your trip!

So glad you are enjoying the TR!

Yeah, we haven't even gotten to the worst of the rain yet.....

Isn't that weird about MK EMH? It's like, you don't know what to do and end up riding the TTA over and over again...

I sincerely hope you got a good night's sleep...I'm staying tuned for the next installment!

Yes! By then, my anxiety had subsided and I was sleeping fine. Thanks!

love that Dumbo shot with the blur.... :thumbsup2

No, there was NO ONE there waiting. It wasn't crowded, it was that they waited to play the next showing until the fireworks were over! Total BS! Haha!

I'm in! We were there the week after you and it was soooo Humid! Great time but decided we are taking a break from Aug. For a while.

So humid, right?! Like gross...fortunately it wasn't very hot, temperature wise because that would have made it sooo much worse!

I honestly have NO idea how I can drink so much in WS! I mean, at home, I have two beers and I get a headache and want to go to sleep. Something in the air maybe.... :confused3 :lmao:

Ooh I just found this TR so I had to power through and read all of the updates together! I have read all of your previous TRs so of course I am subscribing :)

Hey guys!!! Sorry I haven't updated in a while but this is like the craziest week ever!! Last week was Back to School Night, which is always stressful and a lot of work. To top it all off, my sister finally had her new baby Thursday morning - the morning of Back To School Night!! When she called me late Wednesday Night on the way to the hospital, I was so upset that I couldn't go. Normally, I would've went immediately and just called out sick but it was impossible with Back To School Night. I was in the room with her when Emma was born so to not be there was killing me.

Luckily, we had a half day (to make up for having to go back at night) so I was able to go straight from school on Thursday to see the baby before heading back to school that night. She's HUGE compared to when Emma was a newborn. Almost 9 pounds.

She was having trouble keeping any food down and after changing her formula a few times, they had to bring her to NICU Friday night. My sister was devastated, obviously but luckily I was there so I took Emma home and stayed with her when my sister and her husband stayed in the hospital. They came home yesterday but baby had to stay. (OH! Her name is Abby by the way!!) But by the end of the day yesterday, she was doing much better on the "super expensive" formula so hopefully she can come home tomorrow. She was also pretty jaundiced so they have her under the light now too.

Anyway.....with all that going on, I'm let the updating slide but hopefully this week, I'll get to do some more. :)

Congrats on your new Niece! Did she have problems with breast milk as well? That is pretty rare.

No worries on the lack of updates! You've been busy! How long have you been a Disney Travel Agent?

She actually didn't breastfeed. Just her choice but after she was having all these problems, she told them she would if it would help but they said she was doing better by then...

I've been doing it for a about a year and a half. Love it! :)

I'm not sure of her finances but if the formula is super expensive she may want to consider breastfeeding or at least pumping. That choice is always hers though!

I think it is something I would love as well but I just don't have the connections for it! I can't even get my friends to ask for help in their planning now. Then they come back and they go... We should have talked to you first!! Silly people!
