Hello friends--Just wondering about your thoughts regarding Tusker House vs. Yak & Yeti. We did Yak & Yeti last year and really liked it! Wanted to try Tusker House this time, but have read some marginal--or worse reviews here. Our party is 4 adults, which includes an 18 year old and a 25 year old. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Tuskerhouse is one of the only buffets we will go to for all meals (most of them are breakfast only!). It has a lot of options, a lot of room around the buffet, and we have always had decent buffet service.

Yak & Yeti is our go to for a sit down meal that is not a buffet at Animal Kingdom. It is good, Americanized Asian food in a really cool building and our wait staff has always been good. The do tend to keep the air conditioning up REALLY high (or is it low???) though so if you are seated under a vent, bring a sweater! We froze upstairs one visit...LOL.

If we had to pick one, I think we'd opt for Yak & Yeti...but I think our last trips for a long time back we have done both...on our trip in 2 weeks (!!!!) we are doing both on our out of pocket portion (Tiffins on the deluxe dining plan for the first time).

I actually really enjoyed the food at Tuskerhouse! But you have to like mediterranian type food. Also i feel the characters are great there and spend a lot of time wtih you :)

Yak & Yeti is one we go to every time! We like Tusker House, but we find it to not have many differences from other buffets offered. Yak & Yeti have those amazing fried won tons for dessert and very tasty ribs.

The Yak & Yeti has more of an Asian flare to its meals as the Tusker House is more Mediterranean/African taste to its meals so it is somewhat of a difference in meals. They are both nice meals, but it just comes down to what you prefer in food. If you are up for something new as you said you haven't experienced the Tusker House I would definitely give it a shot.

If I was to do my perfect AK day I'd do a late breakfast/early lunch (best of both worlds) Tusker House, then an evening meal at Yak and Yeti

Haven't tried Y&Y so can't comment on that. Let's keep this just amongst ourselves but...TH is a candidate for best buffet on property. Shhh!;)

We like the food at TH, but if you aren't interested in seeing the characters, it's really not worth the upcharge, IMHO. I would stick to Y&Y or, if you are willing to leave the park, head over to AKL and go to Sanaa. Tiffins is also very good, but pricier than the options you've listed.

We did them both about 3 weeks ago and I really liked both of them though they are very different. Tusker House of course is a buffet but I think the selections are fewer but of better quality. The roasted pork and chicken was very good and they had a corn dish I loved. Characters were pretty good and service was fine but the restaurant was very loud and chaotic. We have also done breakfast here before and like it fine too. Y&Y was really good. Loved the food and service was good too. It's a much quieter place to relax.

We love Y&Y, and we would love to try TH for dinner but we have a DS13 who is a fairly picky eater and I cannot bring myself to spend $50 for him to maybe eat some mac and cheese and a couple of rolls. Y&Y has some "normal" food like hamburgers so we can all get something we like: I get the monster sized bowl of chicken tikka masala and my kid can eat french fries! So food choices may be something to consider esp with the teenager!

If you're looking for a good meal with characters, to TH. But if characters aren't of concern, opt for Y&Y.
