Tusker House Question

If I get an ADR for 10:30 during breakfast and they switch over to lunch at 11:00 in the middle of us being there, will we be charged for breakfast or lunch? Is it a pay when you get there thing, or pay when you're done? We will likely be on the DDP, but for value's sake, I'm trying to figure out for which we would be charged.

Tusker House is a buffet and has similar but not identical food to Boma in addition to "normal" breakfast items. So I would suggest trying a little bit of the new and unfamiliar items first and then going back either for seconds of your favorite new foods or to fill up on the usual things!

Everything there is very good. I personally like the babootie (sp?) but some people find it a bit odd. I think you'll find most inspired dishes are very American-ized and palable for even picky eaters. Enjoy.

We plan to - just going to do something light in the morning with no real breakfast so we'll be good and hungry for this, then not having dinner until later. We're treating it as a brunch. I am excited to try to Bobotie and the hummus, but I am adventurous - me children are not. I figured this would give me a chance to try new things while giving them something familiar (breakfast) to eat in case they aren't feeling it that day.

Also, with this being a buffet - do I ask a CM for assistance with the kids since it's just me and the 3? Are the kids able to go up to the buffet by themselves? If so, I would be comfortable enough letting my DS8 go up there alone, then watching the table while I take his little brothers.

Yes, as long as your eldest son knows proper buffet etiquette and hygiene ( not using his hands to pick up items, always using the provided tongs and spoons) then he could go to the buffet by himself. Not sure what kind of assistance you want from the CMs, but they won't watch your kids for you.

More like helping carry trays if I have to take both littles with me at a time.

Geez, I don't they have trays.. maybe they do.. but I think you just grab a plate and pile it on.
Also, I am pretty sure they have a smaller buffet for young ones to be able to reach.. gosh, its hard to remember.. I only remember, TUSKER was great.. loved it!

I bet the CMs would help you carry stuff back to the table.

Maybe you should go up with all three at once and help them get their food while making mental notes about what you would like for yourself. Then get your kids seated and run and get your food.

Or looking at the ages of your kids, your two other kids can probably manage getting their own food. There is a place to set the plate down so they could help themselves. You could carry your plate and your youngest (even though I bet he's pretty tough being the youngest with two older brothers!)

The "kid" food is a kid height and so probably meant for them to do it themselves.

One, kind of, unrelated thing, make sure you pay attention to the characters so you don't miss them and have to wait until they come around again.

Now, I'm thinking of that yummy jungle juice they serve.

No Disney buffet has trays. Actually, I've never been to a buffet anywhere that has had trays (but I rarely go to buffets).
