hey

Just wondering where u would pick to eat between Tusker house and boma

Is there that big a choice at tusker when I look at the menu I wouldent say it's that big a choice or am I wrong

And what time would u pick to have dinner there, don't want to miss any shows at night if there are any ?

Also is there much price difference

Am staying at conado springs so if you pick boma how do I get to and back to my hotel from there, or if it's to much hassle rather leave boma

Thanks for any help in advance

I eat at Boma for the convenience while staying at AK; however, my family will travel across the park to specifically eat there for their signature Zebra Domes dessert.

Both Boma & Tusker House are buffet - which means many food choices.

Boma is better food, but not worth the trouble if not staying at AKLodge (or you don't mind driving yourself).

Tusker House has Characters.

You need two buses to/from Coronado (and just about every resort-to-resort excursion within Disney).

Some folks will chime in that, "You can take a taxi," but then that would defeat the idea of being price conscious.

We eat at Tusker House:
a.) breakfast prior to Park open (so we can get a head start at Rope Drop), or
b.) first lunch seating (because we prefer lunch food over breakfast.

In your case, first available seating for dinner should work.

Animal Kingdom nighttime show, Rivers of Light, looks to be starting soon. Keep your eyes open for details that might impact your plan (planning).

Cost is about the same == you pay 'premium' at Boma for food, 'premium' at Tusker House is for Characters == about $40-$45/adult for dinner.

Thanks that was very helpful

If you leave from a park, then Boma isn't bad to get to. I liked both. I think Boma has a little better selection, but Tusker House is really good too. For convenience, Tusker House is better if you are already at AK. Like @JZCubed said, watch what is going on with Rivers of Light, because they might offer a dining package.

Many people eat Tusker House "brunch". You make an ADR for 10:40am. When you are seated you can enjoy b-fast items, but then they quickly will switch to lunch items so you can enjoy both. Also, you pay the b-fast price which is much cheaper.

We ate dinner at Tusker House and Boma, and Breakfast at Boma. I think my husband would agree with me when I say Boma is the better option. If characters are important to you, Tusker is a good character meal; however Boma seemed to have more and better options food-wise. The breakfast at Boma was the best breakfast buffet I've ever been to. It was worth the trip for us both times. Just take a bus to AK and then a short jumper bus to AKL.

If I remember correctly, including tip, Tusker House cost probably about $25 more for dinner than Boma for two adults.

Boma is/was a long time favorite, but our recent experience is that the food at TH is better quality. TH doesn't have as broad a selection as Boma, but the dishes seem fresher at TH. Boma is a huge cavernous room that's noisy and somewhat chaotic with people going back & forth to the buffet. Of course TH is also a buffet, but the food stations are separated a bit more, and you don't get the backup of people you sometimes encounter at Boma. Both restaurants are good, partly depends on how you feel about character dining.
