Tusker House- early dinner or PPO breakfast?

Hi friends, would love to try TH on our next trip. I was originally thinking an early dinner there because we will be out late the night before, so thought we would do some relaxing/pool time in the morning and then tour AK in the late afternoon and evening.

BUT, I've heard great things about their breakfast.

What are your opinions?

What is PPO at AK like?

Thanks!

AK is the park with the fewest benefits to PPO.

The dinner buffet is quite possibly the best character dinner (competes with Garden Grill; I hear 1900PF has great character interaction but most people skim over the food quality).

That is good to know.

I adore AK, so wondering if I should try it in the quiet stillness of the morning, but honestly I always feel calm and peaceful walking through the oasis.

I have a few other days of PPO ADRs planned (MK and Epcot), and want to remember to take it easy with our touring- we don't want to feel like commandos on this trip.

So now I'm leaning back to my first instinct- dinner.

Sheesh. Wish I lived closer and could go all the time. I swear I'd never get tired of it!:o

In all likelihood, AK will be open later than currently posted when you are there, assuming your 180 is approaching? Those 5PM closes are likely to be 7-9PM closes. New experience at night!

I know!!! I am so excited. I've been stalking the Rumors of Light thread on the communities forum. ::squeal::

The tree of life always gets me. Can't wait to see it "awaken."

Thanks for your reply :)

TH is my favorite character breakfast on property. We always do a PPO to get great pictures in front of the Tree of Life, around Africa, etc. because it's seriously empty. The food is awesome and we are usually out before 9 am which gets us to a walk on for the Safari. Animals are super active in the morning. We then we do a FP for it later in the afternoon. I don't know if I could do a PPO after a late night though :) I probably could though for TH lol.
I haven't done dinner so I can't comment on that though!

We love TH brft! DD especially loves the special juice they serve, and the characters in Safari gear is fun. If you do not want PPO because of late nt., you could do the latest brft, around 10:30, and since they start changing to lunch, you get some of both. You could do Lion King show after since you are right there, and FP Safari for later.

We did brunch and it was fantastic! Got to sample breakfast and lunch items and scheduled our Safari FP+ for 1hr later, worked out perfect.

I third (?) brunch! Last month we had a 10:30 am ADR. We walked into AK at opening, did the Lion Guard adventure game (2 of my kids are OBSESSED with Lion Guard), stopped for severla Photopass pictures while everyone else was RUNNING to rides, then we walked into FoTLK at exactly 10a (no FP) and then went to Tusker right after to eat.

Lunch foods came out at 11:15 (however a small section was kept with breakfast items). We really got the best of both worlds -- and for the price of breakfast you can't beat it! Tusker is my FAV breakfast buffet on property. The food & characters are the best.

After brunch we hit our FPs. It was a very nice day.

I agree with brunch. We had 11:30 AM reservations this past summer at Tusker House. They had a small selection of breakfast foods available. We are planning a trip for March 2017, and my husband suggested doing the early lunch reservation again.

^^^ Breakfast is $13/less per adult and $5/less per child than lunch, so if you make your ADR for the latest breakfast (which was 10:30 last month) you could save some $$$ and still have brunch :)

We have an ADR for 10:30 and I am very excited about trying both the Breakfast and lunch selections.

TH breakfast is a MUST do, IMO.
I have eaten dinner and or lunch there as well and although it was VERY good.. it just couldnt' match the breakfast!

It could be that I am just a breakfast person..

I'm not a breakfast person at all but TH is just so good! It is the only breakfast I do at WDW lol (other than BOG but that is only because I get PPO and I always have free dining..I would never pay OOP for it). I would have no second thoughts to pay for TH :)

These are all great ideas. Now I want to be there for PPO, brunch, and early dinner lol!

Thanks for the replies- the breakfast menu looks pretty incredible.

Would it be weird to do a TH breakfast and dinner in the same trip? (Not the same day)?

I never had breakfast at TH simply because their dinner is the only ADR my family requests every year!

Wow! That is quite an endorsement :)

I guess we can't go wrong either way!

I'm thinking we will do dinner this trip because the timing fits better and save breakfast for the next time.... Although my mouth waters every time I see that breakfast menu lol!
