Has anyone been to Tusker House since they changed it to a buffet? If so, what meal, and what did you think?

thanks y'all!

Menu is available on allears.net. We, two adults and DD13, had lunch there last week and enjoyed it. Good selection, good quality for buffet. They serve the same juice as Boma.

We were there Friday, December 14 and Friday, December 21, both times for lunch.

Eating there on the 14th was a last minute thing. We just walked up and got right in at about 11:30.

We liked it so much we made an ADR for the following Friday!

The selection of food was good and extensive. Imagine a large U shaped display of buffet tables. Starting on the left, you have various breads - sliced breads, sweet breads, etc. Then comes sliced deli meats. Then salads - from lettuce-based to fruit-based to the more exotic. Then you get cold side dishes, then some hot side dishes, and then the children's area at the bottom of the "U".

Continuing around the U, there are various hot side dishes and then the entrees.

I recall there being green beans, a carving station with two meats (I think it was beef and pork one day, turkey and beef the other), roasted chicken, and salmon. I also recall many cous-cous side dishes, and many rice side dishes.

Oh, and out in the middle of the U is a round station loaded with wonderful desserts. Everything from cookies and pies to cakes and puddings -- including bread pudding. Oh, and pastries. And brownies. And tarts. And donuts. Mmmm!

The service was great, too. Both servers were very friendly and helpful, and kept our drink glasses filled.

In the dining room, the large, dark wooden tables and chairs give the place a solid feel, while the light walls give it an airy ambiance.

We never felt rushed or neglected, and everyone from the folks at the podium, to the people who show you around the buffet and to your table, to our servers were all very nice.

We plan to be back every time we're at AK.

(Oh, and our server said dinner is basically the same as lunch as far as what's out there -- they just change a couple of dishes -- but it's more expensive.)
