How is the food now that it is not buffet? I am thinking of booking a breakfast reservation. We are only doing 1 day at AK though so I am thinking of getting a reservation closer to 10:30am so we can try to ride as many attractions upon park opening and then take a break to eat. Is this a good plan?

I haven’t eaten there recently so can’t comment on the food, but the later reservation is definitely a good plan to take advantage of shorter lines in the morning.

Our friends chose this breakfast in early Sept. If you are going for the characters only (6 feet away), then it's ok. And I understand the price reflects the character experience. But IMHO the non buffet option family style food was not worth the price. I believe we got juice/coffee, breads/pastries, eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage and chicken curry with rice. For 4 adults is was almost $250 with the tip. We have eaten there when it was a buffet and that was definitely worth it, but I don't think it's worth it at this time.

Timing wise, if you want to get some attractions in before breakfast, 10:30am is probably a good time.

Ok, thank you so much! I really want to go for the characters since I won't be doing any other character meals on this trip.

I hope the consensus is that it's a good plan, because that's the way I always do breakfast at the parks-hit a few of the rides first, before they get too busy. At AK, head to KS so I might be able to catch the animals just after they came out and are possibly most active.
