Tusker House Breakfast

I have an ADR for breakfast at Tusker House during my upcoming trip. I've seen on here that you meet Donald before being seated, and often have to wait in line. I guess I just want to confirm that this is the only chance to meet him and that he won't circulate inside?

Also, if you do have to wait in line to meet him before your meal, can you get in line as soon as you check in, even if it's before your ADR time? (I'm not talking ridiculously early, but checking in around 9:05 for a 9:15 ressie) Thanks!

Donald does not circulate inside.

He is part of the check in process. You wait in one area to be called. Once called you walk to another area and get in line to take your picture with Donald. After you get your picture taken they seat you.

You wait to be called before you can take a picture with him. The wait area is downstairs and then when you are called you are taken upstairs to take the picture then inside to eat and get pictures with Safari Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy. It really takes no time at all though, a couple minutes at most.

I have seen people post Donald came inside while they were there (1 person even posted a photo), but those seem to be very rare indeed.

Keep in mind that Donald does NOT sign autographs when you meet him for a photo outside.

Tusker House Breakfast is a must for us each trip! My family really likes it there and looks forward to it every year. In 2007 and 2008, Donald came around to the tables for pictures and autographs. He also took part in the parades. In 2009, they tested Donald just being out front during our Sept. trip. Evidentally it made Disney a lot of money on pictures, because it's been that way ever since. In 2009, we did not wait in the line to see him and take pictures, but last year we did. The CM brought the picture packet to our table, and even though I liked it, we did not buy it. I think it costs too much. Don't remember how much, but that was my thought. I don't like the pressure that comes with selling the pictures. It's really hard to think that the picture of your family is going into a dumpster--but I guess that's what Disney counts on!

Thank you all for the info - that's really helpful! I assume you can take a picture with your own camera as well, if you're not intending on purchasing theirs? Just wanted to be prepared when I get there.

Absolutely. You can definitely use your own camera. We bought the photo package one time because the photos were just too cute, but the other times we haven't bought them.

We were there 2 weeks ago tomorrow, and Donald did come inside for at least a short time (maybe because we had a 1010 ressie and he was done outside??), but he did not make it over to our table. We checked in, got a beeper that went off before we even managed to park the stroller, and then I think we were the 4th or 5th family in line for photos. He did go take a break, for a couple of minutes, or the wait would have been even shorter. Much quicker process than Akershus was the day before, for us.
