It was the only time they had for breakfast during our stay so I have a few questions...
What time should we try to be at AK to make it to Tusker House?
Any ideas on how long we will be at the breakfast?

I personally would arrive around 7:30 to allow time for parking, bag check, and leisurely stroll to Tusker, taking pictures along the way. Breakfast should last 50-60 minutes, and then enter the safari with no wait! We love TH ADR at this time.

You have, what I would consider, the perfect ADR time for this restaurant (8:15 is even better than 8 because it gives you a bit of wiggle room, while keeping all the benefits - see below).

As posted above, plan to arrive at the park by 7:30 am. Head to the left side of Discovery Island (toward Africa) as you are coming in (you will be let past everyone being held at the rope here).

Check in as soon as you can (chances are, you'll be let in at about the same time as the 8 am ADRs).

If the park is opening at 8 (e.g., morning EMH) have one member of your party get Safari FPs while another member checks you in to breakfast.

You can save time (and $$) by skipping the photo with Donald. On our last trip, we had an 8:15 ADR, skipped the photo with Donald, and were one of the very first people seated and visited by the characters (buffet was also hot, fresh, and virtually untouched). We were done with breakfast a few minutes before 9, and were on the Safari (with no wait) a couple of minutes later.

Thanks for the replies. The park doesn't open until 9 the day we have our ADR. I just thought 8:15 was a little late to enoy being in the park before open - I'm glad to hear it's not.

Now that they don't do the show at rope drop, this sounds perfect to me! I think I'm going to shoot for an 8:15 ADR myself.
