I went a few weeks ago but my sister paid for a room. Kind of expensive couple of days with the cost of the room and of course the cost of feeding the slot machines.;)
They do have a diamond card that accrues karats which can be used for meals and my sister had lots of karats so we ate for free.
I've heard that you can stay there free, but is that just for the high rollers or can an ordinary person obtain a room with a code or coupon and where can I find one?:surfweb:

LOL I was totally shocked to see Turning Stone show up as one of the topics here! I was actually just there tonight for dinner. :goodvibes I did a little gambling as well but mainly with my Free Play coupon and I won a whole lot of nothing! I only just started getting the monthly mailing of Free Play vouchers because I had lost my original Diamond card from when the Casino first opened (I never played all those years since I never won anyway) and just recently got a new card which caused them to mail me the coupons.

As far as how to get the free rooms, etc, I really don't know how some seem to get them. My mother is at the Casino at least once a week for meals and gambling and still gets the minimum as far as free plays and has never gotten the other perks like comped rooms, meals, etc. When we have stayed overnight there for weddings or go and have large family meals, you'd think that would kick out some nice perks for her but nothing. I'd love a free room...my daughters are 5 and 12 and LOVE the Casino!! :rotfl:

We are only about 30+ minutes away so we actually go there each year for Christmas Eve dinner as well as some Easter dinners, birthday dinners, etc. My parents also spend a large part of the Summer camping a the Turning Stone RV Park. Funny thing is though, my Mom's secretary is constantly getting comp rooms, food, RV sites, etc, at both the Turning Stone and the Vernon Downs Racino. LOL Not sure why some get the perks and not others.

Hey thanks for responding! You sound like you have eaten there often enough to try different places. We ate every meal at the same place - it had green lights over it? Not sure of the name, maybe the Emerald Room? It was reaasonable so my sister's karats covered the cost of the meals, but I don't think I'd like to eat there all the time. Are there any other reasonably priced restaurants that taste less generic? I thought the steak house sounded pretty good.:)
I suppose the free rooms and free play coupons are just like the machines. It's hit or miss if you collect!;)

Yes there is the Emerald Room or Cafe or something like that. I have eaten there a few times. We usually end up at the Buffet..Season's Harvest. It's not really the cheapest depending on what day of the week you go heap but it is pretty good and there is a huge selection of different things. They also do breakfast, brunch, and lunch buffets as well. When we there other night, there was a sign with info about getting coupons off of their website for meals. I haven't looked yet to see what the discount is.

There are different food specialties (seafood, prime rib, etc) on different nights or themes such as Octoberfest which is Mon-Thur for October. German food was the reason for our dinner there last night...my Dad never got a chance to eat at Biergarten while we were at WDW last month. This buffet offers anything you can think of and is always different from night to night.

Rodizio is the steak house I think. I have never been but have heard that it is very good from those who have gone. There was another nice restaurant but I can't remember the name. Then there is a quick service location with different types of food to choose from. There used to be a cute diner like place that was good but it has been replaced by one of the newer rooms full of machines. The old fashion car that was used as a decoration there can now be found down in the quick service area.

The Vernon Downs Racino (not too far from Turning Stone) also has a buffet that is cheaper and smaller and offers more homestyle cooking. I have only been there once but it was also good.

Why do some people get Free rooms, and more comps at the turning stone casino ?????? I'll Tell You Why..........Its because the casino rewards those who spend more on gambling,.. I know this for a fact because when me and my fiance go up together, he plays the tables and I play slots and for some reason, I end up with more karats then he does by the end of the night and when we get coupons in the mal from the casino, he usually get a $20.00 free play, and I usually get a $30.00 free play.
I play more money on slots, than he plays on the tables, or at slots. I got a free room once, about 2 yrs ago. It was nice, but I expected better (coming from the turning stone). :flower3:

So weird. I used to live 5 minutes from Turning Stone. I know it was always busy but it never occurred to me that it was a real vacation spot. Went there to play Bingo a few times but man people take it seriously! Wish I still lived there, I'd say don't worry about a reduced rate room, you can stay with us! Lol!

It's funny that you say that about it being a vacation spot. I am always surprised when we are there and there are so many people checking in on any given day. We are always there on Christmas Eve and it is full of people staying there. We were just there on the 13th and even that night people kept arriving for a stay. We usually sit in the tower lobby while waiting for whoever is still gambling and it is always a steady stream of people...everyone from convention goers to families.

But then again, we live right next to Remington Arms and I can never believe the number of tourists I see going in and out of the museum. LOL Many are from out of state too. I joke that who needs Disney when we have next best thing for tourism! :rotfl2:

I have family who go up once or twice a week but still just get the minimum. Lately, my mom has been getting better offers from Vernon Downs lately like free rooms. She tends to go to Turning Stone more often though.

My neighbors get comped all the time! They must dump buckets full of cash in the casino to get them. They also watch shows and eat there.

The Lodge will send out deals to previous patrons via mail. I've never stayed at the towers so I don't know about them.

So, basically, the only way to get a free room is to consistently spend way more than what the room costs on the casino floor.
