Turning a rental car in early?

My rental with National is only a 6 day rental when you do the math even though I'm technically there 7 days. I wonder if I reserved for an extra day to take advantage of coupons and discounts but then turned the car in a day early if that would be a problem? Thoughts? Has anyone done this?

National will (usually) give you the weekly rate for a 5 day rental. Put in your real dates and times. If you turn the car in a day early they'll redo your rate.

Car rental agencies are "wise" to the turn the car in early excuse. Depending on the number of days they consider a weekly rental you may have your rate changed but they probably won't give you any back for returning it early.

If you do that, they will revert your contract back to a daily rate.
With National 5 days qualifies for a weekly rental.
