Alison mentioned possibly going to Steakhouse 55 possibly for my birthday, but I looked at the menu for that one and it's pretty pricey for meI might go anyway, since, really, when am I going to DLR again?
Plus, it's my birthday. So there.

We'll make the reservation and we can always change our minds! That and Carnation Cafe one day. I'm still trying to figure out what to cook in the room. I'd rather make something that you might possibly like rather than something you have told me that you dislike.
Do you like spaghetti? I'll make it sans mushrooms! You like Chicken Parm... You said you don't like bacon "with" things so bacon wrapped flank steaks on the grill would be out. What about Sloppy Joes, Jambalaya or Asian Chicken and rice?
Often times we have meatloaf, but I know you hate that. I just looked through my menu plans over the last year and almost half the things I make are with mushroom sauce, or mushrooms are a huge part of the dish!![]()
I had to learn how to cook without mushrooms when I got with my DH(WBG as I call him), he absolutely hates them. I did not realize how much I used them until I had to stop using them.![]()
all this food talk is making me hungry!! you are going to have an excellent trip!
It was a vanilla bean with vanilla cream cheesecake. Sad to say, I forgot to take a picture of the cheesecake before we demolished about 80% of it.
Oh well, the remaining 20% will have to suffice. It might make a showing in my TR when I get round to it (after I get home)...![]()
I've just had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and we brought a cheesecake back to the room for dessert....which we have already eaten.
All the dining chatter is making me hungry!....and I'm so full I could burst!
Your plans sound great. And I would definitely take the 3 day pass option. It gives you the flexibility on the Tuesday to go visit the parks. Given that it will be summer, you should have later closing times. Plus I think the 3 day pass gives you the early entry on Thursday.
PIO...
I guess you internet is working better than you expected!
Dana,
So we'll plan on spaghetti, if you want to make meatballs that would be awesome, but if you want to be in the parks, I'll make a meat sauce, we can figure it out as we get closer. I'll give you my asian chicken recipe later and see if you like it, but I'm thinking that we can really save some $$$$'s by having a few meals in the room and then splurge on Steakhouse 55. You will be amazed by the difference in space between DLR and WDW. Everything is a few minutes walk. If you're in DL you can be in our room within 10 minutes (well not if you're at Pooh Corner). If you're in DCA you can be in the room in 5 min, it's nothing like WDW. It's way more compact even more so if you're staying at the BC or BW and walking to Epcot. That's about as far as you would walk if you were at the DLH, but GCV is waaaay closer.
I think for the money you'd save coming back to the room for a bit will not take away from you park experience, especially since I hope we'll have a theme park view! We'll see how it develops!
Dana, Fran are totally right about the distance. I hate leaving the parks in the afternoons or for meals at WDW even if we have a car because it always adds 10-30 minutes of travel time, but DLR (for better or worse) is much more compact! Eating meals in you fabulous villa is a great way to save money!![]()
Not my fault
But yeah, playing it by ear sounds good at the moment, because I really have no idea if I'm going to want to leave the park

Not saying it is your fault! It's just I don't think about Disneyland with such a planning mind like I do WDW, we don't have to make ressies 180 days out. In fact I will be making my WDW ressies before I make ours for DLR! Also since it's 10 days and three different resorts, I have to know exactly what we plan to do since I have lots of goals to accomplish like F&W, Harry Potter, and oh yeah, relaxing!

So, um... I may have to cancel this trip.
I've been job searching for a while in hopes of changing careers. I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm burning out fast and can't watch another favorite resident die, and no one ever taught me how not to get attached to the people I care for every day. We've had two residents die just in the last week, both men that I really cared about. I don't want to stick around and watch the ones I'm close to pass away, because it's hard enough when it's a resident I'm not close to.
Well, I have a job interview today, in a couple hours. They told me to bring my IDs and be ready to fill out paperwork and do a drug test, so I think I'll be getting a new job today. If I do, I don't think I'll be able to take time off so soon for a trip. I'm going to bring it up at the interview and if they say that's fine, then I'll continue planning. If not, then I'd honestly rather have a job I don't dread going to than a trip to DisneylandSo, I'll keep you guys posted, but just to give you all a head's up that this PTR may be canceled. I'm hoping I'll still be able to go on my WDW trip, since that's not until December.
