Turn Around and See What Happens -- It's Whoopi Time and that's a wrap 3/31; F&G add

:cheer2: on your jackpot win. Sounds like a great weekend. Spending time with the kids and friend, plus some extra money. Now get out before the snow comes tomorrow. That sounds so wrong for so many reasons. :goodvibes Huggs

What a wonderful Weekend you had!!! I hope it keeps up!!!
CONGRATS On the $$ and to Tony and his BIG WIN!!!

Even better than my jackpot win is tonight our good friend and one of my many "adopted" sons, Tony Ramos won the National college Wrestling Championship. We are so proud if him!!!!!!

Luckiest weekend ever!!@

I just keep scrolling up and down through your dancing lights photos and sighing. I WILL see them some day and they will NEVER stop having them, at least until I get to go :rolleyes1!

Congrats on your win, Kathy! I am sure Mickey will be happy to "look after it" for you. :rotfl2:

I thought I had posted here, but I guess ........... I did NOT. Sorry. Just wanted to say ...... great photos of the Osbourne Lights. :thumbsup2

Thank you, Karin; I'm glad you enjoyed.

I love that the boys got necklaces for the Osbourne lights. Just the accessory they both needed. :rotfl2:

It matched their outfits, don't you think? ;)

How cute are Cayley and Avery with their light bulb necklaces.

Yes they are.

The thing I love best about the Osbourne lights are all the cute little creative touches everywhere. The dog at the door. The bicycles. The hidden Mickey. Too cute.

It amazes me all the detail that you find when you look for it.

Hello Kathy,
Nice to catch up on the Dis by reading your TR . . .haven't been on in a while. It's nice to try different resorts - we always loved CSR, where I first saw your posts when I joined a few years ago, but decided to be brave and try something different. So last year we stayed at POR and really liked it! Next trip (Feb, 2015) we hope to stay at CBR (they have a refurb planned soon so that would be a plus).

:welcome::welcome: It's good to see you. I remember you from our CSR thread. One day we will try POR...maybe for a night before we start our DVC stay; I do think POR is beautiful. Yes, CBR is finally getting queen beds.

Hope you enjoyed Boardwalk, I really like that area and would love to try it someday too !:)

We loved the Boardwalk; so much, that we are staying there again in September.

The Osborne lights are so awesome. I can never get enough of them. hopefully I can get there to see them again someday!

I hope you get back to see them too, Jen. I agree...they are awesome.

No snowball???? you were robbed! Did you end up getting anything at all?

It was one of the things I was so much looking forward to again on that Christmas trip. :headache: No, we ended up with nothing else because nothing else appealed to us.

I love the dancing lights, you really can't have too many pictures.

I agree; although the pictures don't do it justice, there are just never enough.

Me too!

They are just too cute for words.

I can't wait to see where you ended up for dinner, how very very fun to have all of you together.

It was nice that we could all sit down and have more time to visit.

What a great end to the park night. The Osborne lights are really amazing. The boys look great in their glow necklaces. Those guys really are amazing to the girls! Looking forward to your dinner wrap up!

Thanks; we had such a good day...all six of us together. I wish it could have been longer, but at least we had some time together.

Sending prayers for Joe and his family!

Thank you very much.

Love the Osborn Lights pictures. I too hope they find something to do with them.

I hope they leave them where they are and work around them. It won't be the same anywhere else. :(

Kathy the Lights are beautiful !!! I sure hope this wasn't their last year !!!

Me too, Rosie. Me too.

Yeah... there's really nothing much to say about that last update. I just love enjoying the Osborne Lights. Preferably in person, but pictures are nice too. :lmao:

I hpe they are there for you in December.

Looking forward to seeing the dinner plans. :thumbsup2

Coming up right after all of my responses.

Trying to stay caught up around here and failing miserably.

No worries, Pat; I'm constantly falling behind.

Always love the lights and score on a last minute dinner location. I will guess Captain's grille too since yes you can get a last minute table there pretty easily.

I don't know how anyone could NOT love those lights.

I was miffed too when the snowball was gone. :(

Seriously; it was such a hit. Why do they get rid of all the good stuff?

I am completely in love with the Osborne lights! There are never enough pictures of them, and I love them all :lovestruc (No matter what time of year it is now!)

Well, it kind of fits in here at least since we are still getting snow and it's almost April. :sad2:

What a great pic of the two cuties, they look like they're having fun.
Love the matching t-shirts! And everyone's glow necklaces :thumbsup2 (I love wearing glowing/light up stuff and being part of the Osborne lights! :rotfl2: )

I think the kids really enjoyed themselves, and they really fell for Nicki. I was mad at Mark that he didn't get me a necklace. :lmao:

The Osborne lights look amazing! I have never been able to visit in the fall or winter, but seeing pictures of all of the decorations makes me want to add that to my bucket list.

I hope they stick around and you can get them on your bucket list. So worth it just for those lights.

Kathy,
I snuck in a little DIS time and caught up on your updates. I had to skip the in between but saw that Mark has gall bladder surgery coming up. I hope he is feeling okay.

He is feeling very well, thank you. He has really stayed away from meat, so he's been good.

That photo of you on Tower of Terror is absolutely hilarious! I can't even imagine what was going through your mind at that point but :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I wish I knew. :rotfl2:

Your photos of Osborne lights has me wanting to schedule a December trip soo bad :)

If it weren't that we are taking such a long trip in September and are NOT getting AP's again, I would try to sneak in another December trip.

How much fun that Nikki & Todd were able to join you for some park time.

I was so happy they could join us for part of the day.

have fun celebrating A's birthday this weekend. :)

Thanks; we had a great weekend.

Any time!

Oooh - congrats on the jackpot!!! WHOOT!

Thanks, D. I almost fell off my chair.

Now, off to go try and catch up here... :thumbsup2

D~

And I see that you did. ;)

First, my apologies for falling behind here Kathy. I only went back 10 pages... :surfweb:

D, please don't apologize; it happens to me all of the time lately.

Your view at AKL was gorgeous!!! It is on my bucket list to stay there one day (along with every other resort. LOL)

We really love the resort, despite it's distance from everything. It is just so stunning.

How awesome that you were able to do a Dismeet. :thumbsup2 You know how I feel about those. :lovestruc

I love all of my DIS meets; they are just so much fun.

I am so very sorry about Joe. So very sad, Joe, his family and friends will be in our prayers.

Thank you.

Loved the group photos in front of ToT - and I especially lOVED your coordinating shirts! :lovestruc

Weren't those shirts great? I can't wait to wear mine again at Christmas.

Such a sweet gift of the dolls for the girls - they look super happy about them. :lovestruc

They are good girls, and I like spoiling them (their father yells at me all of the time).

Mmmm... The food at Sci-Fi looks aaaah-mazing!

It was a good meal (unlike the last one there).

Yay!!!! So happy that Nicki was able to join you!!!

We were too.

Loved all the Beauty and the Beast pictures and the ones of the group in front of the hat!

Thanks.

Your Osborne Lights photos are fantastic - I dream of seeing it one day.

I hope you do...they are spectacular.

Phew... I think I am caught up... :faint: I need to be more diligent about not falling behind :lovestruc

D~

Thanks for getting caught up, D.

:thumbsup2 I was looking for the "like" button!

Thank you.

:cheer2: WTG! That's some serious Disney money!

Jill in CO

Thanks, Jill. I gave half of it away.

:woohoo: :dance3: :yay: Way to go, Kathy!!! :dance3: Without a doubt, you are the luckiest person I have EVER known!!! :woohoo::yay:

Thanks, Christine.

Congrats on the winnings... Dessert is on you in June. :rotfl2:

I think I can swing that.

Thanks, Ann.

Isn't that a regular occurrence with you? You have the right touch with those machines. Way to go! Enjoy your time in IA. :)

I've been very lucky on our last several casino visits. I wish Mark would get my luck (he didn't win in Vegas last week and he didn't win this weekend).

Wow! Looks like Nikki and the girls really did hit it off! :thumbsup2 Then again how can you pair them all up and not have a good outcome?!? They all have such wonderful hearts, every one of them. :goodvibes

They sure did, Camille.

The lights look like a wonderful end to a perfect park day. :) Hoping dinner turned out just as well. I'm surprised it wasn't Todd who snagged the ADR, he's is the king of walk ups when it comes to scoring ADR's. :thumbsup2

I don't think we even asked Todd this time. ;)

Oh, and congrats on the jackpot!! Seems everyone won tonight!! Well, except for Mr. Mark. :( He'll get it next time. :thumbsup2

Mr. Mark NEVER wins. The only thing he has won is me. :goodvibes

Wow! That's awesome, and glad to hear you're having a great time too!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Thank you!

I was far behind...all caught up now!

Good to see you.

Glad Nikki and Todd could join you! Great pictures of Festival of Lights! I would love to see them again one day, if they are not removed...:(

Thank you; we were glad they were there too. I hope they don't move them either.

Congrats on the win!

Thanks!

We are going back in Sept too...23- oct 7. Lots of Disers going!! :)

We will have to be on the lookout for each other. I've already got things set up with that's nice and emmysmommy.

Like Like Like Who needs the button!!!!:rotfl2:

Thank you, Rosie. :)

Sounds like you had an amazing weekend! Hope your good luck continues!

Thanks; it was a terrific weekend.

:cool1::cool1:Kathy you have some skill at hitting those jackpots.

I usually get a small one...couple hundred or $500...but this one was a shocker.

:cheer2: on your jackpot win. Sounds like a great weekend. Spending time with the kids and friend, plus some extra money. Now get out before the snow comes tomorrow. That sounds so wrong for so many reasons. :goodvibes Huggs

Thank you. I understand Chicago got snow while we were gone (it was still downtown when I came to work this morning). I don't know if the kids got some last night. We are getting a dusting to an inch tonight. Seriously, this has got to be the last one!

What a wonderful Weekend you had!!! I hope it keeps up!!!
CONGRATS On the $$ and to Tony and his BIG WIN!!!

Thank you; I think I was more excited for Tony than the money.

Hope Alisha had a great birthday!!!

Alisha really did have a wonderful birthday.

Luckiest weekend ever!!@

Yes it was!

I just keep scrolling up and down through your dancing lights photos and sighing. I WILL see them some day and they will NEVER stop having them, at least until I get to go :rolleyes1!

I hope you get to see them in person one of these days.

Congrats on your win, Kathy! I am sure Mickey will be happy to "look after it" for you. :rotfl2:

I'm sure Mickey would, but not this time. We gave the kids 1/2 the money and the other half is buying our new blinds for our living room and dining room.

Okay, how about we get back to an update. I think I'll do dinner here and the start of our next day.

Before I do, I wanted to share a photo of Tony with you. Mark wrestled with Tony in high school on the same team. He also knew him before that at the kids' club. Tony stood up to his wedding and is one of Mark's best friends. Tony is like another son to me (I have several). Mark talked to him after his big win and Tony told him to thank me for all of my support and that he thought that the win was worth a batch of my chocolate chip cookies. I texted Tony yesterday and told him that win was worth cookies for a lifetime. I love that kid and so happy that in his last college match he won the National Championships.

And us toasting the newly crowned Champ:

So I left off with all of us headed to the Yacht Club. And you were all right that we were eating at Captain's Grille. By the time we could get there, it was too late to eat at Yachtsman since that is a much more "relaxed" atmosphere and the girls were starting to drag, so we went with Captain's Grille.

Some pictures from the lobby:

At this point, I have no idea who had what, but here are some pictures from our dinner. I will say that we enjoyed our meals. Service was a little slow, but we enjoyed.

I think the soup might have been Mark's since he was still not feeling great.

After we made our goodbyes, Nicki and Todd walked back to the Boardwalk and Mark drove Mary and the girls back to AKL because they had to pack as they were leaving the next day.

Saturday, December 7, was upon us. I had to call Brenda the night before (emmysmommy) to cancel us out of our ADR with her and others for the Crystal Palace because Mark just wasn't feeling very well and wasn't up to it. It broke my heart because we were looking forward to it, but I thought it best to let Mark sleep in a bit.

After Mark woke up, we took a ride to AKL after getting some coffee at the Bakery, to bid farewell to Mary and the girls. At the time, we did not know we would be planning a Phoenix trip in 2015, so Mark had no idea (nor did I) when he would see the girls again. It was a little sad, but I at least knew I'd be seeing them in May/June for 8 nights and 9 days.

Obviously Mark's stomach being upset did not stop him from trying on a hat:

After saying goodbye to Mary and the girls, we drove back to the Boardwalk, parked the car and walked the back entrance to Epcot since we were spending most of our time in World Showcase on this day.

We stopped in the shop at the International Gateway and this is how I found my husband:

First stop:

Back in the warm Florida sunshine, Mark posed here for a photo:

I just love these trees:

I'm going to stop here as I'm at my picture limit.

Up next, more World Showcase.

Great update Kathy! All of the food looks wonderful - I have a certain fondness for steak. ::yes:: And I love the Canada movie - I am not sure why? Probably for all the gorgeous scenery you get to see?

Love that picture of Mark too! :)

Oh and Congratulations to Tony!!! How wonderful!

D~

Congratulations to your friend on his championship. Much hard work went into that. ::yes:: It is thrilling for us when kids we have watched grow up have good things happen for them.

The steak looks good. So does the salad. :)

I'm glad you got to have that fun Disney time with special friends. Saying goodbye is hard, but there will be more hellos yet to come! :dance3:

Poor Mark. That really stinks that you had a cancel you ADR meet because his stomach was bothering him. I hope he fully recovered after that.

I bet you hated saying goodbye to the girls and Mary. It's always so sad because you know its going to be awhile until you see them again. But actually June is right around the corner now. :thumbsup2

Congratulations to your friend Tony! That is quite an accomplishment!

Even better than my jackpot win is tonight our good friend and one of my many "adopted" sons, Tony Ramos won the National college Wrestling Championship. We are so proud if him!!!!!!

:yay: on the win at the machines!!! You do seem to have some great luck in the casinos.

Congrats to your son's friend as well. Quite an awesome accomplishment.

Dinner at CG looked very good. Sorry Mark wasn't feeling well enough to join the group for breakfast.

Lovely hat photos as always.

Sad to have to say goodbye to friends.

Congrats to tony! And your big win at the casino!!!!

Dinner looks very yummy, another place we haven't tried!

Sorry mark wasn't feeling well and you had to cancel your breakfast!

Sure it was hard to say good-bye, fun you are going to Phoenix to visit the girls, are you going to get to DLR then too?

Our family loves the Canadian pavilion - my BIL is from Newfoundland and the kids like O'Canada. Sorry Mark was ill - with all of my family on our vacations - 21+ - it never fails that some of us get sick; but I'd rather be sick at Disney than sick at home!
