Turn Around and See What Happens -- It's Whoopi Time and that's a wrap 3/31; F&G add

Have never had breakfast there but have done dinner a couple of times !! Not a huge fan of the skillet for dinner but the kids loved the carrying on by the staff and didn't complain about the food soo we had a good time !!!

The breakfast looked yummy, and I bet it was nice to have a quiet one for a change. It's hard to find a quiet spot to sit and be calm for a little while when at Disney World.

I'm with you and many others on the WL, it's not really my thing. It's beautiful and all, but I grew up seeing places like that when I lived in Colorado. It just doesn't hold much appeal for me.
Aren't we lucky we have so many resort choices to pick from? Something for everyone. :goodvibes

I love this picture. Do you mind if I steal it? My dad loves buffaloes. It's actually embarrassing at times. He once knew a whole herd at a nearby farm by name.

How pray tell did he know their names?

That looks like a beautiful resort and WCC is on my list of places to try eventually. I'm just afraid if I take Jim there he will never leave.

We will never go back for dinner, but I'd go back anytime for breakfast.

I meant to multi quote but I think you were good on my TR. I updated today.

No worries; and I caught your update. :)

I'm glad to hear that your breakfast experience at Whispering Canyon was way different than you dinner there. Yay for Jeffro!

Yes, dinner was a disaster; a complete different experience this time.

We had breakfast there a couple of trips ago and our waitress was in and out of character and not "full on" which we really liked. Too much of that puts me off.

I don't mind the "fun"; we actually had NONE of it at dinner...it must have been an off night for the staff having fun. But I don't want it at breakfast...especially not before I've had my coffee. ;)

Thanks for taking us to the Wilderness Lodge. I don't really have a desire to stay there because location is the most important factor for me, although I hear really nice things about WL. My husband and I would love to walk around the resort, though, especially during the holidays.

You are most welcome. I'm not that big on location because we normally rent a car. I've heard a lot of great things about WL too. You should walk around at Christmas...it really is stunning.

Breakfast sounds nice. That's great that you were able to get Jeffro as your waiter.

I'm so glad we got him, and breakfast was really good.

Ahhh~ you all are such YANKEES!!! :rotfl2: Cheese Grits are fantastic!! :thumbsup2 I love grits any way, shape or form...but I am married to a yankee myself, and he doesn't like grits, either. :sad2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: You are so funny! My husband loves grits any way, shape or form too (he ALWAYS gets them at Waffle House and then always asks me if I want to try them; I swear one of these days he is going to wear them!).

Glad you had a good breakfast experience. :thumbsup2 If I ever went to WDW at Christmas, I would want to stay at WL...for the same reasons you do not like it: it reminds me of cold and snow...and staying warm and cozy by the fire. :cloud9: Guess that is the southern girl in me... we don't get much snow or reasons to stay warm and cozy by the fire around here much. :guilty: We have had our fair share of COLD this winter... but not enough snow to speak of. :sad1:

See, I'm opposite. We get so much cold and snow during winter (especially this year), I don't want anything reminding me of it. :rotfl2:

So, you stay with Old Key West and I will take the WL, and we will meet up somewhere in the middle! :thumbsup2

That sounds like a plan to me.

I need to go back and catch up but luvin the pics of all the decorations. I miss Walt Disney World

Good to see you, friend. I'm glad you are enjoying the pics. Did I not see that you might be making a Disneyland trip?

I love Wilderness Lodge, but I feel the same way about the beach themed resorts - too much like home! I want something different when I'm on a trip! We visited the lodge a few days after you were there, the decorations are fantastic! I always love Fort Wilderness as well! Loved the pictures!

That's what great about Disney...different theme, type, etc., for everyone. I prefer the beach theme or the Animal Kingdom Lodge. :) One of these days, I want to visit Fort Wilderness...we've never been there.

:woohoo: a visit to the WL! It's a nice resort, but the rooms are a bit on the dark side. ;)
The resort is beautiful and your breakfast looks yummy. Mark's isn't so much up my street - I am not a fan of pancakes. :lmao:

I've never actually seen the inside of the WL rooms (we were told that unless you are staying there you can't see a room...this was part of my dislike for the WL because the CM told us that and I knew it to be a lie); AKL is dark, but it doesn't bother me. Mark loves his pancakes; I do too if they aren't super huge (I prefer the little ones).

:thumbsup2 Yeah for an impromptu DIS meet! You are FAMOUS, Kathy! :goodvibes

It reminded me of when it happened to Nicki last December.

Yum - O relaxing breakfast! Jeffro - I'll have to remember that. :thumbsup2

Yes, if you go...be sure to ask for him. He was very good and very accommodating.

The Wilderness Lodge is SO beautiful at Christmas. My favorite Christmas resort. But it definitely doesn't scream palm trees and Florida, does it?

Nope, definitely not Palm Trees. ;)

I had someone post on my TR that they saw me at Jiko, but they didn't say anything. That's always odd when someone knows you but you have no clue who they are. Thumbs up for your impromptu DISmeet.

Hmmm...I wonder why they didn't way hello.

Have never had breakfast there but have done dinner a couple of times !! Not a huge fan of the skillet for dinner but the kids loved the carrying on by the staff and didn't complain about the food soo we had a good time !!!

We hated the skillet and why we'll never do dinner again (plus Mark got very sick on the food at dinner). I'm sure kids love all the antics.

The breakfast looked yummy, and I bet it was nice to have a quiet one for a change. It's hard to find a quiet spot to sit and be calm for a little while when at Disney World.

It is; everything is always so busy. The best we've come close to some quiet is at Kona.

I'm with you and many others on the WL, it's not really my thing. It's beautiful and all, but I grew up seeing places like that when I lived in Colorado. It just doesn't hold much appeal for me.

I bet you did see a lot of that in Colorado.

Aren't we lucky we have so many resort choices to pick from? Something for everyone. :goodvibes

It is...and part of the reason I love Disney.

After reading some of these replies I think I'll skip WCC for a meal.

My dad knew the individual buffalo because he and my mom went to the farm as often as they could. I think if he could have kept one in the city he would have. He actually went out west on vacation and came home with buffalo poo once. I tell people all the time that I was adopted. I'm the only normal one in my family that likes Disney.

I'm not going to do a PTR or TR for the two days we are at Disney during Mark's business trip in March.

I'll post our plans here and then I'll post a few pics from the trip here on this TR. I will be doing a PTR for our girls 8-night stay in May/June.

So, we will fly to Orlando on March 1 and then stop at DTD to have dinner at Earl of Sandwich before we drive to Valdosta, Georgia, to see Mark's customer on Sunday morning. From there, we drive to the Jacksonville, Florida area and will stay in Lake City for one night. We'll see a customer on Monday morning and then drive to Niceville, Florida to see a customer in Santa Rosa on Tuesday morning.

After we are done with the customer in Santa Rosa, we will drive to Disney World. We will check into the resort before dinner if time allows. We are staying here:

After checking in (hopefully), we will drive to DTD for our dinner at Raglan Road.

We may do a little window shopping before going back to the AKL.

Wednesday morning (March 5), I will be up early to sit on my balcony looking at this:

We will drive to the Poly for our breakfast ADR and then head to the Magic Kingdom. I have FP+ for Peter Pan and Winnie-the-Pooh in the morning. We will see what else we can fit in before we meet MEK (Mary Ellen and hubby, Denny) for lunch at Columbia Harbor House. I'm so glad she noticed that we were going to be there the same day and that we can hook up again (I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Ellen and Denny in June of last year).

We will continue to hang at the MK; we have one more FP+ for the Mermaid ride late in the afternoon. We will probably have dinner at Cosmic Rays, unless we hop over to the Studios.

Thursday, March 6, we will have something quick from Mara for breakfast and then head over to Epcot. We have FP+ for Living with the Land, Soarin' and Mission (for Mark). We'll only be at Epcot until 1:00 and then we drive to the Beach Club for lunch at Beaches & Cream at 1:30.

After lunch, we will drive to Naples where we will stay until Sunday. Mark has two customers he needs to see on Friday. I may or may not go with him. Unfortunately, Nicki has to work on Saturday, so she's hoping to get Friday off or part of the day and we'll go shopping. We will have dinner with Todd and Nicki on Friday night at Tommy Bahamas.

Saturday will be a pool day (we are counting on warm weather). Saturday night we will have dinner at Da Ru Ma with Todd and Nicki. We fly home Sunday morning.

I think it will be a good trip. We are seeing two customers I've not met before and a few favorites. And it's always good to get a Disney fix in there. :)

Your March plans look great! What a nice little fix to hold you over till September! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I still have to catch up from your other updates. Is the DIS acting slow for you? It is for me… reminds of the good 'ol days. :badpc:

You mean hold me over to May/June. ;)

Yes, and it is annoying as all heck.

After reading some of these replies I think I'll skip WCC for a meal.

I have read many reviews that people love the dinner; we just happened to hate it. :rotfl2:

My dad knew the individual buffalo because he and my mom went to the farm as often as they could. I think if he could have kept one in the city he would have. He actually went out west on vacation and came home with buffalo poo once. I tell people all the time that I was adopted. I'm the only normal one in my family that likes Disney.

I agree with you...you are adopted and normal. ;)

You certainly have a busy week planned for March. I'm sure it will be great especially after this cold winter.

:lmao: I always say that WL reminds me of Wisconsin! :lmao: I don't really want to stay there either, but DH has expressed some interest, so maybe someday.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your breakfast! That huge Mickey waffle looks amazing.

Jeff mentioned you guys when we had breakfast the following morning at WCC! I'm glad you enjoyed breakfast there. It's a bit out of the way but it's a good option. (At least as far as I'm concerned.)

I'm in the like category for WL, not the love category. There are resorts that I like better and then there are resorts that I love - like AKL, where you'll be in March!

Nice plans for March. It's so nice that you can squeeze in some Disney during business travel. I wish I had clients in Orlando...

AWESOME that you get to meet up with MEK again. :)

Fun plans for your March visit!
And even better hooking up with Nicki again, even if it will be only for a short time. :thumbsup2

I love your plans for March! A little business, a little pleasure and a couple of visits with couples. I love Columbia Harbor House- that should be a really nice lunch with Mary Ellen and Denny!

It is now Thursday, December 5. Okay, not really (although with the weather it could be...I feel like I've not really left my house except for work and shoveling in months!).

I still have no idea how we missed you in the lobby. We were checking out of the WL at the time you were browsing and getting ready to have breakfast. I was really bummed out when I read your live posts on FB while we were heading to the airport on DME :(

As for not getting out of the house and shoveling... I hear you. I am so tired of the frigid cold and all the snow. Obviously those who believe in global warming do not live anywhere near the Great Lakes States. :)
The resort was beautifully done for Christmas, and I'm glad that we got a chance to see it. I still have no desire to stay there though...it reminds me of places in our neighboring state, Wisconsin, and it reminds me of the cold.

Up next, we head to Epcot and we hit some favorites

Ahhhhh, finally conceeding to WCC is just the beginning. Granted, it was a breakfast and not a dinner; but it is a start. Before you know it the day will come when you will be doing a TR telling us of your week at the WL and how much you loved it and how in the 95 degree heat of summer it reminded you of a cool brisk fall day. You might even tell us you don't mind that the colors of the resort remind you of your dreaded Packers. :rotfl2:
(ok, maybe you won't. LOL)

As for the comment on men and doctors... I'll go see a doctor when I know I'm close to dying. (And you call that stubborn. LOL) :rotfl2:

I chose this place because 1) I wanted to see the resort which everyone said was one of the best to go look at during the holidays and
That's a fact.

Now those of you who know me know that I don't care for the resort
And that's just one of the many things we don't agree on... :rolleyes1

Andy, are you ready for what I ordered first?
I'm surprised you actually made it there before you had to have it.

I have to say that this was a fabulous breakfast and I am so glad we went. Jeffro was wonderful and I would ask for him again. And, yes, Andy, we will be back.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I'm glad to see that you're coming around. :rolleyes1

We took care of our tab and then decided to walk around the resort a bit more and take a few more pictures and hit the gift shop
Always enjoy the sights of WL. Thanks for sharing the pictures. :thumbsup2

Funny story: when we exited the gift shop, a woman came up to me and asked if I was KatMark on the DIS?
You're a Disney fan community celebrity! :thumbsup2

I still have no desire to stay there though...
And you're still wrong.

it reminds me of places in our neighboring state, Wisconsin
Ok, I guess I can give you the benefit of the doubt if that's the case. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I think it will be a good trip. We are seeing two customers I've not met before and a few favorites. And it's always good to get a Disney fix in there. :)
The plans look great. I'm jealous of Mark's business trips. Mine are always to Midwestern cities in December or January. :headache:

The plans for your next trip look great. You're so lucky you can go with Mark on his business trip. Jim goes to Orlando a couple of times a year and I never get to go with him. Granted he is picking up a custody so a little different but honestly the city can send me too. I'll just keep my AP current.

Sorry we won't overlap in May at all but I didn't pick the dates, my friend did. We're going for her birthday and she doesn't care if I do TR's after. That's a good thing anyway. My mom made me stop the one with her a couple of years ago. She is paranoid. She also dislikes Disney and my picture taking. I'm sticking with I'm adopted.

The resort does look beautiful.. like you said there is a wilderness lodge in the Dells we had stayed... Like you that's a Wisconsin thing...

COLD?!?! this is a dang JOKE!!! hope one of these days i can get the feeling back into my fingers!!! Heard the trains were down this morning too.. Did you make it into work OK?

where are you eating in POly??? Please give me construction updates?? it is really looking grim over there...

Sorry I got behind on your TR, Kathy. As you know, things are getting crazy here...which means I may fall behind again!

Now those of you who know me know that I don't care for the resort we were going to as a place to stay

Because you're a weirdo. :rotfl2:

and after our horrible experience at dinner at the restaurant, a place you would not expect me to pick.

That makes more sense. I still love it there, but a bad experience can always make us wary.

We entered the massive lobby and saw this beautiful tree:

It really does look fantastic at Christmas time.

Brenda had suggested we ask for Jeffro if we wanted a "quiet" breakfast as opposed to the shenannigans that normally go on at this restaurant. We were able to get Jeffro...who was a doll by the way, Brenda. I think there were only two other tables occupied the entire time we were at breakfast.

Shenanigans!!! Give me shenanigans!:woohoo:

I have to say that this was a fabulous breakfast and I am so glad we went. Jeffro was wonderful and I would ask for him again. And, yes, Andy, we will be back.

:cool1::woohoo::yay:

Funny story: when we exited the gift shop, a woman came up to me and asked if I was KatMark on the DIS?

:rotfl: I hope you at least signed an autograph!

The resort was beautifully done for Christmas, and I'm glad that we got a chance to see it. I still have no desire to stay there though...it reminds me of places in our neighboring state, Wisconsin, and it reminds me of the cold.

Funny how that works, isn't it? The Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club don't hold much appeal for me, because I live on the Atlantic coast and it doesn't feel exotic.

And that's just one of the many things we don't agree on... :rolleyes1

You might be shocked that I agree with Andy.

And you're still wrong.

::yes:: :rotfl2:
