Turn Around and See What Happens -- It's Whoopi Time and that's a wrap 3/31; F&G add

Mom and I ate at Captain's Grille in February and really enjoyed it. Glad you guys had a nice meal there.

There is nothing worse than feeling sick at Disney! Sorry Mark was under the weather and you had to cancel Crystal Palace.

I haven't seen O'Canada since 2010, I need to get back there again.

I love those Poinsetta trees in Epcot! I think they are my second favorite decoration behind the Mickey wreaths on Main Street.

Yay for Tony!!!!I can imagine you have many adopted wrestler sons!!!

Sorry Marks gallbladder acted up like that :( I really admire he was still up to the hat pics!! Can't keep a good man down. Sorry about the cancelled Crystal Palace breakfast, but better for Mark to rest his tummy. I really like the ambiance of captains grille, quiet and laid back. I got sick after eating a crabcake there. I'm 99% sure it was to much food and wine from epcot and the lounge.

OK where to start.

Congrats to your son's friend. What an awesome achievement.

Your food at Captains Grille looks really good. I had my worst meal at Disney ever there a couple of years ago. Maybe it was an aberration.

Love Mark's hat pictures, even not feeling well. Sorry he had to miss the breakfast.

I love wandering around the Canadian Pavilion but that show there would have me as sick as Mark. I swear I am the only person I know that gets sick watching those type of movies.

Caught up again I think.

And wanted to share some great news of my own. My grandson made his high school baseball team as a freshman. He's a pitcher and shortstop for them.

Before I do, I wanted to share a photo of Tony with you. Mark wrestled with Tony in high school on the same team. He also knew him before that at the kids' club. Tony stood up to his wedding and is one of Mark's best friends. Tony is like another son to me (I have several). Mark talked to him after his big win and Tony told him to thank me for all of my support and that he thought that the win was worth a batch of my chocolate chip cookies. I texted Tony yesterday and told him that win was worth cookies for a lifetime. I love that kid and so happy that in his last college match he won the National Championships.

Congrats to Tony! How cool!

I think the soup might have been Mark's since he was still not feeling great.

That stinks. I thought there was a law against being sick at Disney World.

I had to call Brenda the night before (emmysmommy) to cancel us out of our ADR with her and others for the Crystal Palace because Mark just wasn't feeling very well and wasn't up to it. It broke my heart because we were looking forward to it, but I thought it best to let Mark sleep in a bit.

:(

You're a good woman. Julie would have gone on without me. :rotfl2:

Obviously Mark's stomach being upset did not stop him from trying on a hat:

Like a good hockey player, he doesn't miss a shift.:thumbsup2

I love that kid and so happy that in his last college match he won the National Championships.
Talk about going out on top... :thumbsup2 Congrats to Tony!

So I left off with all of us headed to the Yacht Club. And you were all right that we were eating at Captain's Grille. By the time we could get there, it was too late to eat at Yachtsman since that is a much more "relaxed" atmosphere and the girls were starting to drag, so we went with Captain's Grille.
It may not be Yachtsman, but that steak doesn't look too bad.

Obviously Mark's stomach being upset did not stop him from trying on a hat
At least he can still have some fun... even if uncomfortable.

With Tony's win, I can certainly see why you are a proud "Mom". What an accomplishment!

It's too bad that Mark wasn't feeling well and you had to cancel your Dis Meet. But, it was probably the best choice.

Way to go on the jackpot and Tony's BIG win! That's awesome!

So the steaks looked pretty good at CG. I know we ate there a while back, but I don't remember what I ate.

Too bad you had to say goodbye to the girls. Luckily you know you have more visits coming.

Sad that Mark wasn't feeling that well that you canceled out on breakfast. I hope he's doing better now! Wasn't he having surgery around now?

I like O' Canada too. Maybe it's b/c we live just hours away from it?

What an awesome accomplishment!!!

Gotta love O' Canada! Sad to hear Mark wasn't feeling well enough though :worried:

I am sorry that Mark was not feeling well. That is no way to spend a vacation... believe me, I know!

Sad goodbyes... but knowing when you will see them again is always comforting.

The canada film is one of my favorite ones in WS. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your casino winnings

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Congratulations to Tony on his National Championship!!! What an incredible accomplishment!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Sound like you had a nice dinner at Captain's Grille, but since you can't remember what everyone had, it seems like the company was more important than the food!

We really like the laid back feeling at the Captain's Grille, and we had two excellent meals there during our short trip last summer. I'll be writing about our dinner there soon, which was my favorite of the trip. For the same reason yours was so good.

So sorry to hear that Mark was really starting to feel poorly. It is good that you have been able to find the source of his discomfort and that he can be treated.

A bittersweet morning! Saying goodbye to friends is always tough. Coffee in Africa and some time in the World Showcase- not as tough. Hope you had a great day there!

:goodvibes

Kathy, Congrats on your big winnings the other day and to Tony for winning the national championships a few days ago in wrestling.

As for Mark, I hope he is now feeling better. He does look a bit discomforted in his pictures and couldn't imagine trying to keep going feeling that way. What a trooper! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you enjoyed the Captains Grille. We went there several years ago and enjoyed it. The long story cut short for us with the Captains Grille was we had an ADR at LeCellier and turned out to be an absolute nightmare with none of us enjoying the service or the food there. We returned back to the YC to just call it a day and relax when we just walked up to the Captains Grille spur of the moment and ended up being seated. It was a pleasant surprise for us and have been back there once after. ;)

That June trip is right around the corner. My official WDW countdown on my phone is telling me 67 more days before I return home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Tony and on your win, my goodness you have amazing luck there!

I was so confused by Mark's hat....ears on an OKW cap???? took me a minute to realize it was over his other hat. Clearly I need more coffee.

Bummer about cancelling on breakfast but definitely best to sleep in and feel better.

Sad to say goodbye to the girls but lovely that your next visit with them really isn't that far away now!

That's a great story about Tony! How wonderful for him that he won the national championships AND the lifetime of cookies! :thumbsup2
Your dinner at Captain's Grille looks great! I'm sorry to hear that Mark was still not feeling very well though. I can bet it was hard to cancel the CP ADR, but it was for the best.
(Love the hats though!)

Love the championship Picture!!! a picture is worth a thousand words.. Especially in this.

I am so sorry Mark wasn't feeling well!!! I really hope he was able to perk up! at least he still is showing his disney side! :rotfl2:

so happy you won the big $$!!!

Great update Kathy! All of the food looks wonderful - I have a certain fondness for steak. ::yes:: And I love the Canada movie - I am not sure why? Probably for all the gorgeous scenery you get to see?

I am a huge steak lover too. I agree...the scenery in the Canada movie is outstanding.

Love that picture of Mark too! :)

Thanks. :)

Oh and Congratulations to Tony!!! How wonderful!

D~

We were ALL so very happy for him. He's worked 18 years towards this goal.

Congratulations to your friend on his championship. Much hard work went into that. ::yes:: It is thrilling for us when kids we have watched grow up have good things happen for them.

Thank you! On top of dedicating himself to getting this Championship, he is a great kid! He goes all around the country doing camps for young wrestlers.

The steak looks good. So does the salad. :)

I was quite pleased with the food. Now, how will breakfast comapre?

I'm glad you got to have that fun Disney time with special friends. Saying goodbye is hard, but there will be more hellos yet to come! :dance3:

Yes, hellos will be coming in just 64 more days now. :)

Poor Mark. That really stinks that you had a cancel you ADR meet because his stomach was bothering him. I hope he fully recovered after that.

We've decided that this was probably the start of his gallstone problem.

I bet you hated saying goodbye to the girls and Mary. It's always so sad because you know its going to be awhile until you see them again. But actually June is right around the corner now. :thumbsup2

Yes it is (and we actually arrive May 29 so it brings it a tad closer).

Congratulations to your friend Tony! That is quite an accomplishment!

It sure is and we are thrilled for him.

:yay: on the win at the machines!!! You do seem to have some great luck in the casinos.

I've been very lucky our last several visits.

Congrats to your son's friend as well. Quite an awesome accomplishment.

It is very hard to do and he did it in thrilling fashion...Overtime!

Dinner at CG looked very good. Sorry Mark wasn't feeling well enough to join the group for breakfast.

Me too; we were so looking forward to CP with the rest of the gang.

Lovely hat photos as always.

Thank you.

Sad to have to say goodbye to friends.

It is; but like others have said, I'll be seeing them again real soon.

Congrats to tony! And your big win at the casino!!!!

Thank you, Lisa.

Dinner looks very yummy, another place we haven't tried!

We enjoyed it, and I'm sure we will be back some time.

Sorry mark wasn't feeling well and you had to cancel your breakfast!

Blasted gallstones.

Sure it was hard to say good-bye, fun you are going to Phoenix to visit the girls, are you going to get to DLR then too?

Yes, we are doing Phoenix/Disneyland/Las Vegas for two weeks.

Our family loves the Canadian pavilion - my BIL is from Newfoundland and the kids like O'Canada. Sorry Mark was ill - with all of my family on our vacations - 21+ - it never fails that some of us get sick; but I'd rather be sick at Disney than sick at home!

I like that pavilion too; I wish they'd add a little more though. I love the t-shirts in the shop. I'd rather be at Disney sick too. I just wish Mark's stomach didn't hurt quite so bad. :(

Mom and I ate at Captain's Grille in February and really enjoyed it. Glad you guys had a nice meal there.

We really did.

There is nothing worse than feeling sick at Disney! Sorry Mark was under the weather and you had to cancel Crystal Palace.

I'm sure it was the start of the gallstones.

I haven't seen O'Canada since 2010, I need to get back there again.

Was that before or after they added Martin Short?

I love those Poinsetta trees in Epcot! I think they are my second favorite decoration behind the Mickey wreaths on Main Street.

I really like them too...they do such a great job.

Yay for Tony!!!!I can imagine you have many adopted wrestler sons!!!

Too many to count. Two of them are now on the college team where Mark coaches (they went to the same high school as Mark and Tony).

At the time we had no idea it was his gallblader; glad we now know what it is. Yes, Mark definitely needed the rest. Sorry you got sick...but perhaps it was "too much" wine. ;)

OK where to start.

Congrats to your son's friend. What an awesome achievement.

Thanks, Lorrie! It was an awesome evening.

Your food at Captains Grille looks really good. I had my worst meal at Disney ever there a couple of years ago. Maybe it was an aberration.

I'm sorry to hear that. Funny how these restaurants work. I guess they all have an off night.

Love Mark's hat pictures, even not feeling well. Sorry he had to miss the breakfast.

I'm sorry too; but I didn't want a sick husband for our last full day.

I love wandering around the Canadian Pavilion but that show there would have me as sick as Mark. I swear I am the only person I know that gets sick watching those type of movies.

Andy, our oldest son, has some trouble with them as well (he's not a huge fan of Soarin' either).

Caught up again I think.

And wanted to share some great news of my own. My grandson made his high school baseball team as a freshman. He's a pitcher and shortstop for them.

CONGRATS to your grandson. That is awesome!

Congrats to Tony! How cool!

Very cool indeed.

That stinks. I thought there was a law against being sick at Disney World.

I guess the gallstones didn't care about that. :(

:(

You're a good woman. Julie would have gone on without me. :rotfl2:

Trust me, I gave it some thought. ;)

Like a good hockey player, he doesn't miss a shift.:thumbsup2

Nope...always a trooper.

Talk about going out on top... :thumbsup2 Congrats to Tony!

He fell just short last year as runner-up (and I still think he got screwed). He is now a 3-time ALL AMERICAN!

It may not be Yachtsman, but that steak doesn't look too bad.

Nope, it wasn't Yachtsman, but it was very tasty.

At least he can still have some fun... even if uncomfortable.

He wasn't going to let a stomachache ruin the rest of his trip.

With Tony's win, I can certainly see why you are a proud "Mom". What an accomplishment!

Thanks, Lisa; he is one of my "favorite" adopted sons.

It's too bad that Mark wasn't feeling well and you had to cancel your Dis Meet. But, it was probably the best choice.

SPOILER ALERT: We did get to see Brenda before we left.

Way to go on the jackpot and Tony's BIG win! That's awesome!

Thanks, Sheree. It was the best weekend all around.

So the steaks looked pretty good at CG. I know we ate there a while back, but I don't remember what I ate.

I'd like to go back when Mark is able to eat something other than just soup; maybe in 2016 as we won't be at DW in 2015.

Too bad you had to say goodbye to the girls. Luckily you know you have more visits coming.

Thankfully, I do. I'd hate not to see those girls for years.

Sad that Mark wasn't feeling that well that you canceled out on breakfast. I hope he's doing better now! Wasn't he having surgery around now?

Thanks; his surgery is April 17; he goes for his pre-testing on April 11.

I like O' Canada too. Maybe it's b/c we live just hours away from it?

I really need to look into going there for a long weekend.

What an awesome accomplishment!!!

Thanks, Julie.

Gotta love O' Canada! Sad to hear Mark wasn't feeling well enough though :worried:

It was the start of his gallstones, obviously, and his stomach just wasn't feeling good at all.

I am sorry that Mark was not feeling well. That is no way to spend a vacation... believe me, I know!

I wish we had known then what it was. We weren't sure if it was food poisoning, flu, etc.

Sad goodbyes... but knowing when you will see them again is always comforting.

Yes it is.

The canada film is one of my favorite ones in WS. :thumbsup2

Mine too; now, if they would just add rotating seats so we wouldn't have to stand.

Congratulations on your casino winnings

Thanks!

Congratulations to Tony on his National Championship!!! What an incredible accomplishment!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

So very proud of him; he is one of the FEW college kids I know that has never lifted a glass of alcohol...he was too dedicated to this accomplishment. He didn't even have a drink when he stood up to our son's wedding.

Sound like you had a nice dinner at Captain's Grille, but since you can't remember what everyone had, it seems like the company was more important than the food!

The company was definitely the highlight of the evening.

We really like the laid back feeling at the Captain's Grille, and we had two excellent meals there during our short trip last summer. I'll be writing about our dinner there soon, which was my favorite of the trip. For the same reason yours was so good.

I can't wait to read what you ahve to say.

So sorry to hear that Mark was really starting to feel poorly. It is good that you have been able to find the source of his discomfort and that he can be treated.

I am glad we found out what it is; it's not like my husband to complain at all.

A bittersweet morning! Saying goodbye to friends is always tough. Coffee in Africa and some time in the World Showcase- not as tough. Hope you had a great day there!

:goodvibes

It is, but I feel good knowing that I'll be seeing them again very soon.

Kathy, Congrats on your big winnings the other day and to Tony for winning the national championships a few days ago in wrestling.

Thanks, Bob. It was such a fun weekend to be together with Mark and Alisha because of our mutual affection for Tony and then they got to share in my winnings at the casino.

As for Mark, I hope he is now feeling better. He does look a bit discomforted in his pictures and couldn't imagine trying to keep going feeling that way. What a trooper! :thumbsup2

His stomach was really bothering him (more than I knew).

It was a pleasant surprise for us and have been back there once after. ;)

As you know, we are no longer fans of LeCellier, and I preferred the choices at Captain's Grille much more.

That June trip is right around the corner. My official WDW countdown on my phone is telling me 67 more days before I return home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm at 64 days and counting. :)

Congrats to Tony and on your win, my goodness you have amazing luck there!

Thanks, Cynthia. What a great weekend of celebrations we had.

I was so confused by Mark's hat....ears on an OKW cap???? took me a minute to realize it was over his other hat. Clearly I need more coffee.

He does that with his Eeyore ears all the time; wears them over whatever hat he is wearing that day.

Bummer about cancelling on breakfast but definitely best to sleep in and feel better.

We didn't want him to be "sick" at breakfast and thought it for the best.

Sad to say goodbye to the girls but lovely that your next visit with them really isn't that far away now!

No, it's not...and I can't wait to see how much they will have grown in the five months since we saw them last.

That's a great story about Tony! How wonderful for him that he won the national championships AND the lifetime of cookies! :thumbsup2

Thanks; and I just found out he is going to Dubuque by our son in May to do a wrestling clinic for the kids so he will be getting his first batch of lifetime cookies then (the next batch will be his wedding in July).

Your dinner at Captain's Grille looks great! I'm sorry to hear that Mark was still not feeling very well though. I can bet it was hard to cancel the CP ADR, but it was for the best.

It was very good; I was worried about him and thought he might not even want to go to dinner, but he is a trooper.

(Love the hats though!)

He has a way with hats. :)

Love the championship Picture!!! a picture is worth a thousand words.. Especially in this.

It sure is Mo. I have rewatched the video over and over. I love that after he shook his opponents hand, had his own hand raised in victory that he ran up into the stands where his parents and fiance were to give them all hugs. Markie could have been there (they had a ticket for him), but it was Alisha's birthday weekend.

I am so sorry Mark wasn't feeling well!!! I really hope he was able to perk up! at least he still is showing his disney side! :rotfl2:

He felt better by noon on our last day and had no issues on the plane home which was a good thing.

so happy you won the big $$!!!

Thanks...me too. I was quite in shock when I hit it.

We had just finished watching O'Canada and decided to move on in World Showcase. The next stop was

We visited the shops in Morocco and then saw that there was a PP guy near Italy so we stopped for a photo:

As we passed Japan, the drummers were out:

We then hit America and arrived just in time to see the Voices of Liberty do their Christmas set:

Mark needed a rest so we went to see

I may or may not have taken a nap during the show.

Next stop: Germany and every boy's dream:

We got some photopass pictures next:

Next stop, China. Mark was obviously feeling better as he decided to be funny.

I'm going to stop here as I am almost out of room for pictures and I have to clean up my desk and head for the train.

Up next, we visit Norway and then have a lunch ADR to get to.

Those trains in Germany are certainly every little boy's dream! We had a hard time getting Ian away from them last year.

I love the picture from China! And great PhotoPass pictures!

More great photos! Happy mark was feeling a bit better:)

Sounds like a fun two weeks! Great you are finally getting to DLR! You need to have lunch at the Carnation Cafe in Disneyland! They have a baked potatoes soup and turkey sandwich on pretzel bread that is so yummy! It's right on Main Street and a great spot to people watch if you get a table on the patio at the railing
Are Mary and the girls going with you?
