Turbotax refund card-- anyone use this?

Doing my taxes thru Turbotax, as I do each year and one of the options for payment is the turbotax refund card.. which is a visa card..

Has anyone done this option in past?? How did you like it? any problems?

We thought about it this year, but we have a bad track record with just letting gift cards sit around. We did direct deposit again this year.

It also looks like there is around a 5 dollar monthly fee each month if you do not make 30 transactions or reload 1000 dollars per month. I think you also have to manually cancel the card by calling a phone number, but I could be reading that part wrong.

What the heck, why in the world would ANYONE signup for that!!!!!!!!

E-file with a direct deposit and you will have you money in less then two weeks sometimes...

This gem along with RALs I just dont get it!!! If you need cash that bad go find something to sell or give blood...

OMG it takes them just as long to issue the card as it does to get your refund!

Monthly Charge

Your Monthly Charge will be waived in any month following a month where you make at least 30 purchases or load at least $1,000*

Balance inquiries at participating ATMs are FREE. You can always check your balance for FREE online, by phone, or by text**. Balance inquiries at non-network ATMs cost $0.50
Other Charges

Lost/stolen card replacement: $4.95
Second card: $4.95
Reloading your card with Direct Deposit is FREE. Reloading your card at a retailer will cost up to $4.95
If you use your card outside of the 50 United States, a charge equal to 3% of the transaction amount will apply


You should typically receive your TurboTax Refund Card within 7-10 days from the day you sign up for the card. If you do not receive the card after 10 days, please contact Customer Service at 1-866-963-1620.
