It must be the time of year! I've seen quite a few posts about appliances dying and then yesterday our tumble drier decided to die!

It still blows hot air, but the drum doesn't go round :(

It's been a good one though, I think we have had it over 8 years with no problems, so can't really complain. Decided it will probably cost more to get a man out and fix it than get a new one, especially as it's so old (once one thing goes, then it usually opens the flood gates LOL). So we are off to the shops this afternoon to see what's about :)

Only real requirement we want is for it to be a sensor drier. We have a built-in vent in the utility room wall, so don't really need to go to the expense of a condensing drier.

Tim

I think we should get our old tumble dryers together, my drum still goes round but is not blowing hot air :rotfl2:

The belt on your drum has broken. I had the same problem with ours. Went to local hardware store with all info from the dryer, i.e. make, model and serial number. Was given replacement belt and dryer was repaired in about a half an hour. All it takes is removing the front of the dryer and running the belt around the drum and pully wheel.
This will cost you around three or four dollars compared to what you will pay for a new dryer.
