We'll be at WDW May 18-25th. With a baby in tote we just don't know what our schedule will be like so we don't want to commit to eating a certain times. We still would like a couple of nice sit down dinners though. Is there much chance of getting seated in under an hour during lunch/dinner times or should we just try to eat at odd hours?

ADRs are pretty much necessary, just to be safe, especially at the most popular restaurants. I've never been in May, but I would say the best idea would be to make ADRs, then you can always cancel and just eat at counter service place if plans change or if the baby needs a nap. Have fun! :cool1:

Don't worry, we'll leave some food at the Chilli's! DH and I will be at WDW the first week in May and he refuses to make ADRs until we get there. But we've done that the last several trips (not made ADRs until we got there) and have dined at GF Cafe, R&C, Jiko, Cape May character breakfast, Tusker house lunch,LTT for lunch, and Boma for breakfast. Granted we've never tried for the "biggies" like California Grill, LeCellier, or Chef Mickey's, but we've always found enough options.

As far as restaurants with no ADRs--TRex, ESPN Grill, and Beaches and Cream don't take them. It's usually easy to get in to Grand Floridian Cafe.

Also, you might can call that morning and see about ressies. My bil and sil got lunch ressies at Crystal Palace for the same day.

I've heard some people do that as a method rather than choose ADRs and are pleasantly surprised where they eat. ::yes::

It is totally do-able, but you will need to be open minded with where you eat. I have had great luck in the past with resort restaurants like Olivia's at OKW, and Kona at the Poly. Alos had a walk-up lunch at Marrakesh in the Morroco pavilion at Epcot, and one time I landed lunch at LeCellier, when I had called that morning to see if there were any openings.

We are traveling the end of May, into June with a 2 & 4yr old.

I plan to call this week to make some ADRs. But I know I will need flexibility with them as well. I am booking only 1 reservation per day and they are either EARLY lunches or LATE dinners. I figure that will give us plenty of time to venture back to the hotel for naps and to rest ...

If you really dont want to make any ADRs i agree about calling in the morning to see what you can get or going at off times! Otherwise, Chili's it is .. my kids love Chili's and would probubly prefer that over some of the places I am reserving, LOL
