Do you recommend getting ADR inside MK for an early dinner or just doing a counter service as we enjoy the parade??

I have heard recommendations that you want to get to the party around 4-5 and not waste time at a sit-down meal.

Thinking about having ADR for lunch where ever we are that day.
Another concern I have is eating in costume at a TS meal such as Crystal Palace. (I don't know yet what the costumes will be)

Input please.....

i don't see how you're wasting time by eating at 4 or 5 when the party doesn't start until 7. otherwise, it's just like every other night.

personally, i'm a big proponent of LTT on MNSSH nights with all the characters dressed up a little for halloween

We always have a nice sit down dinner around 5 at the CP, there are not many counter service places open during the party and the ones that are open have a huge line.

If you are not keen on CP try LTT or get on the monorail to Kona....

You could always eat at the food court at your resort before heading over to the party.

Everyone has their own opinion or tradition. You'll have to make your own! :goodvibes

I've been to 8 parties so far and I've eaten a sit down meal every single time. Seven of the 8 times were in MK and one was at Chef Mickey's (the first year).

We usually eat around 5:00 - 5:30p. We've always been done by 6:30p.

We've eaten in every sit down at MK except the Plaza (doesn't appeal to us).

I've seen the CS places during the party and they are always crowded. I don't want to deal with eating at all, either TS or CS, after 7:00p. There is so much to do.

Good luck deciding!

We get to the park around 4 - have our pictures taken on Main Street in our Halloween shirts, shop a bit and then have dinner at Tony's (around 445 or so) before the party. It's neat to sit in the windowed area at Tony's and watch all the other people arriving in their costumes and some of the servers dress up with face make-up like the HM. By the time that we are done with dinner we make our way into the park to begin the fun!

This has worked well for us (with our DS) the last 2 years!

I have done four Halloween parties and one MVMCP and I find that it works best to be done eating by 6:00. Whether or not you do cs or ts is up to you! We have gone to Tony's, LTT and CRT before the various parties and I try to get 4:30 or 5:00 ADR's. Other times we arrived around 4:00, ate cs and then rode a few things before the party. Or sometimes we eat a nice, large lunch and then just a snack during the parade. I just don't want to be at any restaurant of any type after 7:00. Given what I am paying for our four tickets, I want to spend the party time at the party, not at the table! If you do make an ADR for the party night, make sure you do it as soon as you are able. Those early dinner ADR's go very quickly, esp. for Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree since people want to eat before the party. I waited too long last time (as in four months out) and couldn't get anything at LTT before 7:00.

I have done both over the years and I HATE doing TS before the party. We have an early morning with B'fast, eat a late lunch and go back to the resort to rest and get everyone into their costumes. We get to the park by 5:00. We snack around the park all night and stay until the end of the party. The thought of eating in costumes and spillng something on them...nope, not for us!
