Watching the projected paths and hope it stays away from Florida next weekend for the Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon!

I keep obsessively checking the weather reports on a bunch of different websites. All have different information. But one shows rain during the day and clear at night with a low of 58. I'm kind of praying for the low of 58....imagine if we could have running temps in the low-mid 60's. What a treat that would be!

Wow! I would be thrilled to pieces with temps in the 70s! And running in rain isn't bad, not a big fan of lightening though.

I lived for a couple of years down there. They have no idea where those things are going to go so I am not going to worry until it gets closer. The local news always makes it sound like it is going to hit because that keeps you watching.

Hey guys,

Just so you know it has been in the 90s today - and all this week in fact - yep, it sure is cooling off down here in FL :lmao: Frank is right, they have no idea until pretty close :confused3 but it would be highly unlikely that it would get down to 58, even at night, when we haven't had a day below the low 90s since March! At night it has been dropping down to a chilly 74 brrrr :rotfl2: so I wouldn't plan for cool weather.

Right now I can't fathom temps in the 60s with the way it has been this summer. Just saw on Fox 13 news out of Tampa that there is a possible low going to develop behind Matthew that could be trouble.

Just waiting to see what happens.

This is one of the best websites for storm tracking:

Weather Underground

They're not going to know what happens til it gets back out in the water.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen from local news coverage was as a tropical storm was coming on-shore just south of town. A reporter was knee deep in water and flailing around like the storm was really pounding. Then the director made a fatal flaw. They pulled back to a helicopter shot of the area as they were breaking for a commercial…they showed the same intersection where you could see the reporter standing in the ditch and in the only area with ANY water.

I am not worrying about the storm unless the airline stops service.

Oh, for the record the better hurricane website is http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ The page you want is ‘storm discussion’ a lot of the write-up is garbled for the average reader as the discussion is between the NHC and regional offices. You can however see what the model interpretations are when reading this section (if you read between the lines at times). In all seriousness this section kept me from joining the 100 mile traffic jam created by RITA. Rita was forecast in the graphics to hit Houston. 12-18 hours before ground strike the discussion had the storm on the Texas border or east. But the official forecast was kept on Houston to keep the traffic jam moving.

Did EE5K last year in monsoon rains! Not a big fan. In fact it rained so hard the race was shut down and the runners were wading through about a foot of water at the end of the race.

Not that a shower isnt nice to run in because it does break the heat a bit but I am hoping that Matthew takes a turn in another direction.;)

Ah yes I remember it well. It had just started to sprinkle when I started the scavenger hunt, but the time I was done - WOOSH!!

Lets just say the journey back to the bus was very damp, shoes, socks and getting on the bus was cold with the air still on....

Lets all hope for a great race day or night.

Hmmmm

Looks seaonal for race night. Expect race start to be in the upper 70's (even with a forecast low of 72-74). It looks windy. Hard to tell about tropical events but there is a likelihood the new tropical system may form in time to affect Fl Weather.

Right now about a 60-70% chance of dry.
